Do I need lighter fluid or butane with this?
No. The Electro Torch runs on electricity and lights the fire with super hot air, so there is no lighter fluid and no butane involved.
That means nothing flammable to buy or store alongside your charcoal. The only thing you need on hand is a power outlet.
Will it still light a fire on a windy day?
Yes. It is guaranteed to light every time, even in the windiest conditions, because the ignition comes from hot air rather than an open flame that wind can blow out.
Once the coals catch, the same airflow fans the flames instead of fighting them.
How far from an outlet can I use it?
The cord is 6 feet long, so the unit has to sit within 6 feet of a working outlet.
Measure from the outlet to where your charcoal grill or fire pit actually sits before you order, since that distance is what decides whether it reaches.
What comes with it?
You get the steel-cased heating element in a reinforced composite casing, an aluminum cooling shroud, the 6 ft. electric cord, an intermittent power switch and a cooling stand.
The shroud and the stand matter after the fire is lit, because the element stays hot and the stand gives you somewhere to set it down.
