What size outdoor trash drawer fits my existing opening?

Measure the finished clear width, height and depth, then compare them with the exact model's required cutout. Allow frame overlap, support and full drawer extension. Nominal 14-, 18- or 20-inch size labels do not establish compatibility. Send photos and the old SKU using our fit form.

Should I choose a single bin, front-to-back bins or side-by-side bins?

Single-bin units simplify waste storage in a compact layout. Front-to-back dual-bin models can keep the front narrower while using more cabinet depth. Side-by-side models use a wider opening. Compare both cutout dimensions and the space needed to extend the drawer and lift each bin out.

Do outdoor trash drawers include the trash cans?

It depends on the exact SKU. Bonfire/Whistler CBATC models list two included 4-gallon bins, Sunstone SBC18STRD includes two bins and Alfresco AXE-TC-SC includes one 41¼-quart receptacle. Artisan ARTP-TC-15SC and ARTP-TC2-20SC do not include the cans. Check the current package contents before buying liners or replacement bins.

Can a trash drawer also hold a propane tank?

Only use an LP tank in a model whose manufacturer permits that use, with the required ventilation, tank restraints and installation clearances. “Trash or LP” normally describes alternative configurations. Do not assume that a trash bin and propane tank can occupy the same compartment together.

Is a full base cabinet installed like a trash drawer insert?

No. An insert fits an opening in a separately framed island. A complete base cabinet supplies its own cabinet structure and needs its full footprint, supports, leveling range, end panels and countertop planned as a system. Sunstone SBC18STRD and SBC18SLPCD are complete base cabinets.

Do I need a masonry-return trash drawer?

A masonry-return frame is designed to work with thicker stone or brick finishes. Compare the return depth with the finished veneer thickness and confirm the cutout for that exact model. Standard and masonry versions can require different openings.

Will an outdoor trash cabinet keep rain, pests and odors out?

Do not assume a unit is waterproof, pest-proof or odor-tight unless the manufacturer explicitly states it. Empty bins often, clean spills, use suitable liners and follow the stainless-steel care instructions. LP ventilation openings must remain open.

Can I replace only the bin inside my pull-out?

Compare the bin's rim width, body width, height and depth with the carrier and removal path. Gallon or liter capacity alone does not establish fit. Share the existing bin and drawer model, photos and measurements through the fit form.
