Memphis Built-In Grills

Memphis builds wood pellet grills rather than gas grills, and its built-in models are designed to drop into an outdoor kitchen island the same way a gas grill would.

That makes Memphis the option for cooks who want smoking, roasting, baking, and high-heat grilling from a single built-in appliance. Browse the full Memphis collection or go straight to Memphis built-in grills.

Memphis offers three built-in pellet grills:

• Pro 28-inch ITC3: the compact built-in, with IntelliBurn technology and smart connectivity.

• Elevate 30-inch: Wi-Fi connected with dual open-flame modes reaching up to 900F.

• Elite 39-inch ITC3: the flagship, with IntelliBurn technology, Wi-Fi, and a 24-pound hopper.

Size and capacity are the headline differences, but they lead to real usage differences.

The Pro 28 is the compact option and suits smaller islands or a second cooking station alongside a gas grill.

The Elevate 30 is the model to look at if you want open-flame searing, since its dual open-flame modes reach up to 900F. Most pellet grills top out far lower, which is the usual complaint about pellet cooking.

The Elite 39 is the flagship: the largest cooking area in the built-in range and a 24-pound hopper, which matters on long overnight cooks where you do not want to refill mid-smoke.

IntelliBurn is Memphis's combustion control system, used on the Pro 28 ITC3 and Elite 39 ITC3.

The practical benefit of a managed combustion system on a pellet grill is more consistent temperature holding across a long cook and more efficient pellet consumption, which is what separates a premium pellet grill from an entry-level one.

Yes. This is the single most important planning difference between a pellet built-in and a gas built-in.

Pellet grills use an auger, igniter, fan, and controller, so they require a dedicated electrical connection at the island. Run that circuit during construction rather than trying to add it afterward.

Wi-Fi models such as the Elevate 30 also benefit from reliable wireless coverage at the island, which is worth checking before the kitchen is finished.

Memphis built-in grills are available in 28-inch, 30-inch, and 39-inch configurations.

The 39-inch Elite is the largest and the one to plan carefully for, since 39 inches is a less common island opening than 36 or 42 inches.

Select the exact model before island construction so your contractor works from the manufacturer's current cutout dimensions rather than the advertised grill width.

For most outdoor kitchens where the pellet grill is the primary appliance, the Elite 39 gives you the most cooking area and the largest hopper.

If you want searing capability alongside smoking, the Elevate 30 and its 900F open-flame modes is the better fit.

If the pellet grill is a companion to a gas grill, the Pro 28 keeps the second cutout compact. Our general built-in grill FAQs cover island planning.

Yes, and Memphis designs these models specifically for it. They install into an outdoor kitchen island like any other built-in appliance.

Before construction, verify the manufacturer's current:

• Cutout width

• Cutout depth

• Cutout height

• Combustible clearances

• Ventilation requirements

• Electrical connection requirements

• Hopper access and lid clearance

• Ash and grease cleanout access

The last two points are specific to pellet grills and are easy to overlook. See our outdoor kitchen expert advice for island planning guidance.

Solid-fuel appliances behave differently from gas grills, so clearance requirements deserve extra attention when the island is built from combustible materials.

Follow the installation instructions for your specific Memphis model rather than assuming a generic grill liner applies. Our insulating grill liner FAQs explain the general principles, and we are happy to confirm requirements for a specific model before you build.

The Elite 39 carries a 24-pound hopper, which is the largest in the built-in range and the reason it suits long overnight cooks.

Smaller hoppers are perfectly adequate for everyday grilling and shorter smokes. Match hopper capacity to the longest cook you realistically plan to run unattended.

Memphis builds in stainless steel, and the same maintenance rules apply as with any outdoor appliance.

Salt, humidity, grease, and airborne contaminants should be cleaned off regularly, and the grill should be kept covered when not in use. Pellet grills carry one extra consideration in humid or coastal climates: keep pellets dry, since damp pellets swell, jam augers, and burn poorly. Store them indoors or in a sealed container rather than in the island.

Memphis is one of very few manufacturers building genuinely premium built-in pellet grills. Most pellet brands focus on freestanding units. Our guide to the best built-in pellet grills sets the three Memphis models against the Coyote and Sunstone built-ins on price, temperature range, hopper size and cutout.

Compared with gas brands such as Coyote, American Made Grills, or Summerset, Memphis trades instant-on convenience for wood-fired flavor and true low-and-slow capability. Many outdoor kitchens end up with both.

If you want wood cooking without a dedicated pellet appliance, also look at multi-fuel hybrid built-in grills and the wider pellet grill range.

Memphis sits at the premium end of pellet cooking, generally in the over $5,000 range for built-in models.

The case for it is straightforward: if you smoke, roast, and bake regularly, one Memphis built-in replaces a smoker, a pellet grill, and to a degree an outdoor oven. If you mostly cook steaks and burgers on weeknights, a gas built-in will serve you better for less.

The Elite 39 ITC3, because the 24-pound hopper and IntelliBurn combustion control are what make long, unattended smokes practical.

The Pro 28 ITC3 uses the same combustion technology in a smaller cutout if island space is limited.

The Elevate 30, whose dual open-flame modes reach up to 900F. That is high enough for genuine steakhouse searing, which most pellet grills cannot do.

Before ordering, settle on your model, size, electrical plan, and available island space, and verify the exact cutout dimensions, clearances, and hopper access before any masonry or cabinetry work begins.

Plan pellet storage somewhere dry and convenient, and confirm Wi-Fi coverage at the island if you want the connected features. If you are planning a full outdoor kitchen, request a quote and we can spec the package with you.

Memphis backs its grills with a manufacturer's warranty that varies by component. See our warranty information for current coverage, and general brand questions are answered in the Memphis FAQs.
