Outdoor Kitchen Trash Drawer & Cabinet Buying Guide

The right outdoor kitchen trash unit depends on the space you have, the waste you sort and the cabinet system you are building. Start with your finished opening and bin requirements, then compare the exact model drawing.

Choose the right kind of waste storage

  • Pull-out insert: slides into a framed island opening. Match its cutout, flange coverage and support requirements.
  • Complete base cabinet: provides the cabinet structure. Plan the entire cabinet footprint, leveling, side panels and countertop.
  • Countertop chute: drops scraps into a bin below. Check the top opening, cover travel, space beneath and access for emptying the bin.

Measure before you order

  1. Measure the narrowest finished opening width, clear height and usable depth. Account for stone, brick, tile and trim.
  2. Check frame overlap and handle projection. Nominal shopping width is not the cutout width.
  3. Measure clear space in front for full extension and bin removal. Check nearby doors, corners, grills and walkways.
  4. Confirm framing, drawer support and fasteners. Follow the exact installation guide and have the product on site before final construction.

Choose one bin or two

A single bin is straightforward for general waste. Front-to-back dual-bin layouts help separate recycling while keeping the front narrower; side-by-side layouts use a wider face. Check receptacle inclusion and rim/body dimensions. Capacity in gallons or liters alone cannot establish replacement-bin fit.

Propane and trash combinations

Choose an LP-capable model only when the manufacturer permits your tank and installation. Maintain its required ventilation and clearances. “Trash or LP” does not establish simultaneous storage in one compartment. Confirm the selected configuration before ordering.

Projection and revision notes appear on each product page. “Confirm” means a model-specific measurement is still needed; no construction dimension has been inferred from a nominal label.
