The Primo Heat Deflector Rack/Drip Pan Rack for the Oval Junior is the frame, not the barrier. It holds a deflector plate or a drip pan above the fire; it does not block heat by itself. This listing is the two-piece rack for the Oval Junior.
That distinction matters at checkout, because a rack on its own will not give you an indirect cook. What it gives you is a fast way to change the grill's job. Plates on the rack and the Junior is an oven for ribs or a small shoulder. Swap in a pan and you are collecting drippings under a roast. Take everything off and you are back to an open fire for steaks and burgers.
The barrier itself is the Primo Heat Deflector Plates for Oval Junior, and the Primo Half Drip Pan Oval Junior is the pan that fits this frame. A Primo Grate and Deflector Lifting Tool makes moving either one out of a hot grill straightforward. Sized for the Primo Oval Junior ceramic charcoal grill.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the heat deflector itself?
No. This is the rack that a deflector plate or drip pan sits on. It supports the barrier above the coals but does not block heat on its own, so buying the rack alone will not let you cook indirect. The plates for this grill are the Primo Heat Deflector Plates for Oval Junior.
Will this rack fit my Primo Oval Junior?
Yes, it is made for the Oval Junior and fits that model only. Primo racks are shaped to the grill they drop into, so a rack from a Large or X-Large will not sit correctly in a Junior. Check your model before ordering.
How many pieces come in this listing?
Two. The Oval Junior rack is a two-piece part, and both pieces are included here. That matches the two-piece deflector plate set for the same grill, so the frame and the barrier work as a pair rather than leaving you short.
What can I set on the rack?
A heat deflector plate when you want indirect heat, or a drip pan when you want to catch fat and juices under a roast. Many cooks run both at once, with the plate blocking the fire and the pan sitting above it keeping grease off the barrier.
Do I need this if I already own the deflector plates?
Yes. The plates have to rest on something above the fire, and this rack is that support in the Oval Junior size. The two are sold as separate listings, so owning one does not mean you already have the other.
Let customers speak for us
I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
