Frequently Asked Questions
Which 32-inch Summerset grills does the GL-SZR32 fit?
It fits the SIZ32, SZR32, SIZPRO32 and SZRPRO32 built-in grills.
It does not fit the TRL32 or TRLPRO32. Those two take a different part, the 32" TRL and TRL Pro liner.
What size opening does it need?
33" wide, 9 3/4" high and 22" deep. That is the liner's cutout, and it is what the island should be framed to.
How do I tell which 32" Summerset grill I have?
Read the model designation printed on the grill and compare it to the four codes above. SIZ, SZR, SIZPRO and SZRPRO take this liner; TRL and TRLPRO do not.
The two liners have different cutout heights, so ordering the wrong one means recutting the island, not just swapping a part.
Why is a liner needed at all?
It lets you install the grill into combustible materials such as wood or composite cabinetry. Summerset lists it as required for combustible island installations.
It also shields the surrounding structure from heat, grease and flare-ups during normal use.
How thick is the insulation?
The liner is double-walled at roughly 1 inch thick. The gap between the walls is what significantly reduces heat transfer to the structure around the grill.
What is it made of?
#304 stainless steel, chosen for durability and corrosion resistance since the liner is permanently built into the island and not easily replaced.
Will the grill still get the airflow it needs?
Yes. The liner is custom-engineered to the 32" grill body so that proper airflow and safety clearance are maintained after the grill is dropped in.
