What exactly is in this unit?
Two trash buckets behind one sliding drawer front, built into a 304 stainless frame. It puts the bin inside the island instead of standing beside the grill.
Two buckets means waste and recycling can be split without giving up a second opening in the run.
What are the cutout dimensions?
14.44" wide by 19.37" high. Cut the island opening to those figures rather than to the 16.5" x 22" face size.
How much depth does it need behind the face?
19.6". Confirm the framing behind the opening goes back that far before ordering, because the buckets and slides use the full depth.
Will the drawer stay shut?
It is self-closing on damping slides, so it draws itself in over the last part of the travel and holds closed.
What is it built from?
304-grade stainless steel, which is what lets it sit in an exposed island through the seasons rather than needing an enclosed cabinet.
Is there a black version?
Yes. The Black Series CBATC-B is the same double-bucket trash drawer in black.
What pairs with it in an island run?
The vertical triple drawer CBATD uses the same 16.5" x 22" face, so utensil storage and the trash drawer line up together. Cut each opening to its own listed cutout, as the two differ slightly.
