The Primo Precision Control Kit Round is the temperature controller sold for the Primo Round. These kits are listed one per grill size, so ordering the one that names your grill is the first thing to get right.
Controllers and thermometers get confused with one another constantly, so to be plain about it: a controller works the fire to keep it at a temperature you have chosen, while a thermometer simply reports the temperature it finds. This kit is a controller. It is the tool for people who have stopped wanting to babysit a fire and would rather set a number and let the cook run.
The Round is a compact grill, and a compact grill running long and low is exactly the case where small drifts turn into large ones by morning. It fits the Primo Round ceramic charcoal grill. If you would rather compare across sizes, the Primo Precision Control Kit Large is the equivalent for the Oval Large, the Primo Grill Controller is the listing without a size in its name, and Primo grill accessories has everything else.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this control kit fit my Primo Round?
Yes, this is the Round version. Primo lists these kits by grill, so the Round, Junior, Large and X-Large each have their own and you order by the name of the grill you own. Buying the wrong size means buying a kit made for a different grill, so read the size in the title before you check out.
What is the difference between this and a grill thermometer?
A thermometer tells you the temperature. A control kit works to hold it. If you have ever watched a dome gauge climb past your target and gone out to close the vent a little, that manual correction is the thing this replaces, and it replaces it for as long as the cook runs rather than for as long as you are awake.
What does it change about a low and slow cook?
It takes the drift out of it. Charcoal burns down, weather shifts, and a fire that was sitting nicely two hours ago will not necessarily be sitting nicely at dawn. A controller is working on that continuously, so what you get in the morning is a cook that ran at the number you set instead of one you have to reconstruct.
Can I use the Round kit on an Oval Junior?
No. These are size-specific listings, and the Junior has its own kit. It is the same rule that applies to most Primo hardware: read the size in the title and match it to your grill rather than to the nearest one that seems close, because close is not the same as fitting.
Does a controller mean I can leave the grill unattended overnight?
It removes the reason to get up and adjust vents, but it does not remove the fire. You still load enough charcoal for the length of the cook, light it properly, and check in as your own judgment dictates. A controller manages temperature; it cannot add fuel to a firebox that has run out.

I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
