What cutout does the Pro 28 built-in require?
Plan an opening 30-1/4 inches wide by 16-3/4 inches high by 24-1/2 inches deep. Those are the numbers to hand your island builder.
The grill itself is 28 inches wide, 28 inches high and 29 inches deep and weighs 195 pounds, so the island framing has to carry that load.
How low and how high can I set the temperature?
180°F at the bottom, 650°F at the top. One unit therefore works as a grill, a smoker, an oven and a searing station without swapping equipment.
How much cooking area is there?
574 square inches standard, expandable to 848 square inches with optional grates. The optional grates are the way to add capacity later without changing the cutout.
What does IntelliBurn Technology do on this grill?
It runs a secondary combustion of the burn gases, which Memphis links to more consistent temperatures, faster startup and better pellet efficiency. Cleaner combustion also means less ash to deal with over a season.
Why is the pellet hopper split into two bins?
The 18-pound hopper is dual bin, so two pellet flavors can be loaded at once and blended into a single cook. You are not committed to one wood for the length of a brisket.
How do I run direct heat for searing?
Switch to direct flame mode using the included Direct Flame Insert. Indirect mode keeps the flame shielded for roasting and baking, and Clean Start Ignition lights the fire pot either way.
What electrical supply does it need?
A dedicated electrical circuit installed by a certified electrician. Memphis recommends adding an on/off switch for built-in installations so the grill is not left energized in the island.
Does the app control the grill or just watch it?
Bluetooth Wi-Fi gives you app monitoring of the cook. Adjustments happen on the 7-inch touchscreen mounted on the grill, which also runs the pre-programmed cleaning routine.
What grade of stainless is the Pro 28?
304 stainless steel, double-walled and sealed. The double wall is what lets a 28-inch box hold 180°F steadily in cool weather.
Can I use it after dark?
Yes, interior lighting is built into the grill chamber. It is one of the differences you notice on a built-in, where you cannot simply carry the grill toward a porch light.
What is included with the Pro 28 built-in?
A Direct Flame Insert, the Genie Tool and one meat probe. The grill is designed and engineered in the USA.
What if I do not have an island to build it into?
The Pro 28 freestanding cart is the same cooking platform on a rolling base, with the identical 574 square inch surface and 18-pound dual-bin hopper. Other island-ready options are in built-in pellet grills.
