Frequently Asked Questions
How does a charcoal tray work in a gas grill?
You fill it with charcoal and set it in the grill. The gas burners stay in play, so you keep the convenience of gas while the charcoal adds the smoky character gas alone cannot produce.
Which grills does CCHTRAY15 fit?
Coyote 30" and 42" gas grill models. The product code is the reliable check here, since Coyote uses a different tray for other firebox widths.
What is the tray made from?
304-grade stainless steel. Sitting in a grill full of burning charcoal is about the harshest place a part can live, which is why the corrosion-resistant grade is used.
My grill is a 34 or 36 inch. Is there a tray for it?
Yes, that is a different part. The CCHTRAY12 charcoal tray covers the 34" and 36" models.
Do I have to choose between gas and charcoal?
No, that is the point of the tray. It gives you both methods in one grill instead of buying a second charcoal unit for the occasions you want that flavor.
Let customers speak for us
I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
