How to Match an Insulating Grill Liner to Your Grill

Match an insulating liner by the exact grill model and the manufacturer's approved jacket part number. Brand and advertised width alone do not establish compatibility. Two 32-inch grills can use different liners, even within the same brand. This guide explains how to narrow the purchase before checking the installation opening.

Start with the identification label

Record the full grill model, fuel suffix and generation from the appliance label or order confirmation. Include a photo if characters are unclear. A name such as “Summerset 32” leaves out the series that decides which jacket to select. On a replacement, also record the liner's own label; its model cannot reliably be identified by measuring the front flange.

Compatibility and fit are separate checks

Once the approved jacket is identified, compare its required opening with the finished island. The jacket can be correct for the grill while too large for the existing countertop cutout. Conversely, a jacket can fit the hole without being approved for that appliance. Both questions need an answer before ordering.

What if the liner is discontinued?

Ask the manufacturer or dealer to confirm a listed successor for the exact appliance. Do not infer interchangeability from a similar photo or part name. If no approved jacket is available for the planned enclosure, revisit the appliance or enclosure design with the installer.

Does natural gas versus propane decide the liner?

The appliance model and construction generally drive the jacket selection. Record the fuel suffix anyway so the complete order and installation documents describe the supplied appliance.

Does the same price mean two jackets are interchangeable?

No. Price describes the purchase, not the approved appliance relationship.
