Add convenient, weatherproof storage to your outdoor kitchen island with the American Outdoor Grills 17 Inch Single Access Door (model AOG17AR). Constructed from durable 304-grade stainless steel, this door stands up to the elements and delivers long-lasting corrosion resistance season after season.
The single access door features a stainless steel tubular handle and a black slam latch for quick, easy entry, while the reversible hinge design lets you mount it for either a left or right swing to fit your layout. Its vertical orientation makes it ideal for tucking storage into narrow island sections, behind which you can keep grilling tools, propane tanks, and accessories neatly out of sight.
Built to integrate seamlessly into any custom outdoor kitchen, this access door combines clean styling with rugged stainless steel durability.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big does the island opening need to be?
17.5 inches wide by 24.5 inches high. That is the largest of AOG's narrow vertical doors, so it gives you a taller opening without widening the bay.
Why choose a vertical door over a horizontal one?
A vertical door fits into narrow island sections - the leftover run beside a grill or between cabinets - where a wide horizontal door will not fit at all.
Which way does the AOG17AR open?
Either way. The reversible hinge design lets you mount it for a left or right swing to fit your layout.
Is there a latch, or just a handle?
Both. There is a stainless steel tubular handle for pulling the door open and a black slam latch that catches when you close it.
What is the door made of?
304-grade stainless steel. It is the grade used for corrosion resistance in outdoor installations, and it keeps a clean finish season after season.
Can I keep a propane tank behind this door?
AOG lists propane tanks along with grilling tools and accessories as what this door conceals. It has no tray or louvers, though - if you want a ventilated bay with a roll-out tank tray, look at the 14 inch door with tank tray instead.
Will it look right next to my other island components?
It is designed to integrate into custom outdoor kitchens, with the same stainless finish and tubular handle style used across AOG's access doors.

I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
