Description  

The Primo Cast Iron Firebox Divider for the Oval XX-Large is the cast iron partition that splits the firebox on the biggest Primo Oval, so charcoal burns where you want it and not across the entire box.

The larger the firebox, the more there is to gain from not lighting all of it. On the XX-Large a full load is a serious amount of charcoal, and there is no reason to burn it for a rack of chicken thighs. With the divider in, you light one section, come to temperature on less fuel, and keep the remainder of the box clear as a landing zone for anything that needs to come off the heat. Cast iron handles sitting directly in the fire, which is the whole job here.

Add the Primo Half Drip Pan Oval XX-Large above the unlit section for drippings, and the Primo Heat Deflector Plates for Oval XX-Large on the Primo Heat Deflector Rack/Drip Pan Rack for Oval XX-Large when the cook calls for a fully shielded grate. Will this divider fit my Primo Oval XX-Large?

Yes, it is cut for the Oval XX-Large firebox and fits that grill. Dividers are not shared between Primo sizes, so the XX-Large part is the one to buy if that is the grill you own, and nothing smaller will do the job.

Why bother dividing a firebox this large?
