How much ice will it take?
40 pounds, in 2.7 cubic feet of insulated space. This is the larger of TrueFlame's two drop-in coolers and it is built around serving a crowd.
What are the cutout dimensions?
26" wide x 18 3/4" deep x 12" high. Cut that opening and the AMD-IC-28-A drops straight in from the top.
How much counter does the finished unit take?
27.75" wide by 20.75" deep, standing 13" high. Budget the full 27.75" of counter run, not the 26" cutout width.
How does it drain?
A rubber drain plug sits in the base. Pull it to release meltwater, and make sure there is somewhere for that water to go inside the island before the unit is set.
Should I take this or the 17" x 24" cooler?
Choose on shape as much as capacity. This one is wide and shallow at 27.75" x 20.75" with a 40 pound rating; the 17" x 24" version is narrow and deep and holds 20 pounds.
If your counter run is long but not deep, the wide one is the easier fit.
What is it built from?
Weather-resistant 304 stainless steel, insulated, and designed, tested and made in the USA. It cleans down with the same wipe you give the rest of the island.
Does it sit alongside grills and access doors in the same island?
Yes. It is meant to be built into the same run as TrueFlame grills, access doors and drawers, so the faces line up in one stainless band. Related units are in drop-in and pull-out ice bins.
