Client intake: questions to ask before choosing a grill

  • What will the client cook most often, and for how many people?
  • Do they need rotisserie cooking, a griddle, two separate pots or a large boil pot?
  • What is the equipment budget, separate from the island and trade work?
  • Is the project natural gas or propane? What supply is available for the licensed gas professional to evaluate?
  • Is this an open-air or covered location, and what are the island materials?
  • Is there an existing opening, a preferred appliance arrangement or a fixed footprint?
  • Where will food preparation, refrigeration, trash and service access go?
  • What is the delivery ZIP code and required equipment date?

Contractor equipment specification checklist

For each appliance, record these items in the project schedule. Manufacturer documentation for the exact model is the source for construction requirements; advertised grill size is not a cutout dimension.

How to request a contractor quote

  1. Shortlist the equipment using the package guide or existing buying guides.
  2. Use Request a Quote and select contractor project. Include your company, budget, timeline, model list, fuel and delivery ZIP code.
  3. Email drawings or photos to ryan@northwoodsgrills.com, noting island materials and existing opening measurements.
  4. Ask Northwoods to compare selections, identify product specification questions and confirm current pricing and availability. Resolve outstanding manufacturer questions with the installer before releasing the equipment schedule for construction.

Northwoods supplies equipment and product guidance. Your contractor and licensed trades remain responsible for site design, code compliance, utility sizing and installation. If a client changes a model, revisit its opening, accessories and utility requirements before the change is approved.

Contractor questions

Can you help source equipment for an existing island?

Start with built-in grill fit help. Provide the old model, actual opening dimensions, fuel and photos. Published dimensional matches still require the installer to confirm support, clearances and connections.

Do you provide automatic trade discounts or guaranteed lead times?

Request project-specific pricing and availability. The published packages use listed product prices and do not assume a contractor discount or guaranteed delivery date.

Can storage from the same brand go beneath the grill?

Brand matching alone does not establish fit. Check the grill or jacket depth, cabinet dimensions, clearances, utility route and service access together before specifying that arrangement.
