The Estate 42" Built-In Deluxe Grill Cover (GRILLCOV-EST42D) is cut specifically for the Estate and Estate Freedom 42" built-in grills, which is the whole point — a tailored cover sheds water off the hood instead of pooling on it, and does not flap itself to pieces in wind the way a generic cover does. Constructed from heavy-duty PVC, fully water-resistant and UV-protected to slow the fading and embrittlement that kills cheap covers after two summers. The material is the part people skip when comparing covers, and it is the part that determines whether you are buying one cover or one every eighteen months.
The Estate 42 runs an infrared back burner and interior halogen lighting behind that hood — both of which are electrical, and both of which fail from moisture rather than use. The cover is protecting components, not just a finish.
Inside, a soft flannel backing sits against the stainless. This matters more than it sounds: an unlined cover traps grit against the finish and, with enough wind cycles, polishes fine scratches into the hood. The flannel layer is what keeps the stainless looking like stainless.
