American Made Grills Estate Drop-In Infrared Sear Burner
The American Made Grills Estate Drop-In Infrared Sear Burner (IRB-EST) replaces one standard burner position with 26,000 BTUs of infrared heat — the kind of temperature that puts a proper crust on a ribeye in ninety seconds a side. Infrared works differently from an open flame. Instead of heating air that then heats the food, the burner radiates directly onto the surface, which means far less moisture is driven off during the sear. The practical result is a darker crust and a juicier interior than the same steak cooked over a conventional burner at the same nominal BTU.
The Estate Series already ships with a 12,000 BTU infrared back burner for rotisserie work; this adds dedicated infrared heat down at grate level, where the searing actually happens.
Because it occupies a burner position rather than sitting on top of the grates, you keep full use of the cooking surface and lose nothing in hood clearance. Made in the USA and covered by the Gold Standard warranty with 100% non-prorated replacement parts.

The back burner is a 12,000 BTU infrared unit meant for rotisserie work, mounted high and behind the food. The IRB-EST puts 26,000 BTUs of infrared down at grate level, where searing actually happens.
They do different jobs, so having one does not replace the need for the other.
What is the rated output?
26,000 BTU. It is a single-position burner, so that figure is concentrated into one zone of the grate rather than spread across the whole cooking surface.
Which grills take the IRB-EST?

Does it install in place of a standard burner?
Yes. It drops into a standard burner position on the Estate as a replacement for one burner, not as an addition alongside them.
Will the cooking surface shrink?
No. Nothing sits on top of the grates, so grate area and hood clearance are the same after installation as before.
What is the practical difference in how food cooks?
Radiant heat reaches the meat directly instead of passing through hot air first. Less moisture is driven off during the sear, so the crust develops darker and faster while the inside stays juicier.
How many of these can I run at once?
Each unit covers one burner position, so the number you can fit is the number of standard positions you are willing to convert to infrared.
