RCS is proud to provide the industry’s most comprehensive warranty.
All RCS American Renaissance Grills, Cutlass Pro Series Grills and Cutlass Pro Series side burners, sinks, briquette trays, as well as ALL doors and drawers are warrantied to be free from manufacturer defects for the lifetime of the original owner.
All RCS Premier Series Grills and Premier Series Side Burners are warrantied to be free from manufacturer defects for 15 years to the original owner.
All RCS Refrigeration products are warrantied to be free from manufacturer defects for 7 years to the original owner.
All other products carry a one-year warranty to the original owner.
This RCS warranty is effective for product sales beginning April 14th, 2025.

This warranty excludes normal surface corrosion, discoloration, surface scratches and surface rust which may occur. Improper maintenance, salt spray, chemicals, pesticides will affect the look and integrity of the components of these products. RCS will not be responsible for any damage caused as a result of not following owner’s manual instructions. This non-transferrable warranty is limited to the replacement of original (one-time) defective parts, does not include shipping and labor to remove or install replacement parts, if necessary. The owner must retain and submit their original receipt with any warranty claim to receive warranty parts. The warranty applies to the original owner only. How much does the REFR1A hold?
4.5 cubic feet, on adjustable wire shelves, plus a can holder in the door and a storage bin.
The door storage is what keeps cans and small bottles from eating shelf space.
What size opening does it need?
Cut the island opening 20 3/4" wide by 22" deep by 33" high.
That is a narrower opening than the larger RCS refrigerators need, which matters when island space is already spoken for.
Can I choose which way the door opens?
Yes. The door is reversible and RCS asks you to select your door swing when ordering.
Decide that against your traffic path early, since a door opening into a walkway is hard to live with later.
Does the door lock?
Yes, the REFR1A has a locking door.
Will I have to defrost it?
No, auto defrost is built in.
How is the temperature set?
With an adjustable thermostat, so you dial the setting rather than entering a number.
Is there a light inside?
Yes, an interior light, which is worth having on a solid stainless door where nothing shows through.
Can it be leveled in an uneven opening?
Leg levelers on the bottom handle that, so the door lines up square with the surrounding cabinet faces.
What door finish does it come with?
A stainless steel door, and RCS notes an optional stainless steel door can be ordered to match your grill and other components.
What if it is not going into a finished island opening?
There is a trim kit made for the REFR1A for installs that need a finished edge.
How does it compare to the larger RCS outdoor refrigerator?
The REFR1A is the smaller of the two at 4.5 cu. ft. with an adjustable thermostat and a 20 3/4" wide opening. The 5.01 cu. ft. REFR2C holds more, uses digital temperature control from 32°F to 72°F, and needs a 23-5/8" opening.
If the island opening is already framed narrow, the REFR1A is the one that fits.
