Frequently Asked Questions
What opening does the VDU2 require?
Cut 27-7/8" wide by 12-1/2" high by 21" deep. It is a single drawer, but the 12-1/2" height means it takes a full cabinet bay rather than a shallow band.
How much can it actually hold?
The inner drawer measures 25-3/4" wide by 8-1/4" high by 18-1/2" deep. That is one large open volume, not divided compartments.
What fits in 8-1/4" of drawer height?
Enough for grill tools stacked rather than laid flat, plus bulkier accessories, cleaning supplies and utensil sets. The 25-3/4" width takes long-handled tools across the drawer without angling them.
Does it close softly?
Yes, it runs on soft-close tracks and has a recessed handle. A loaded drawer this size carries momentum, so the tracks earn their place.
What is the construction?
Double-lined 304 stainless steel, which keeps the drawer face rigid at nearly 28" of width.
How does it compare to the standard VDU1?
Volume is the difference. The VDU1 is a shallow drawer with 3" of interior height in a 4" tall cutout, meant for flat tools.
The VDU2 gives you 8-1/4" of interior height but needs a 12-1/2" tall opening. Pick by the opening you have as much as by what you plan to store.

I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
