Frequently Asked Questions
What size cooking area is a 48 inch hood meant for?
This is the widest of the three Line hoods at 48 inches, so it is the one to specify over long grill and side-burner runs where a narrower hood would leave the ends uncovered.
The 36 inch and 42 inch Line hoods cover smaller layouts.
Does the largest Line hood move more air?
No. All three Line widths are rated at 1200 CFM, so the 48 inch hood covers a wider area at the same blower capacity rather than pulling harder.
Is stainless the only finish?
Yes. It is built in AISI 304 stainless with a Scotch Brite finish, which Falmec specifies as hygienic, easy to clean and highly resistant to corrosion.
Can it sit outside uncovered?
Falmec rates this as an Outdoor Approved hood and states it works for indoor and outdoor use. The description does not address exposure to direct weather, so plan on a covered structure and confirm the placement in the installation manual.
What does the NRS technology do?
It is Falmec's Noise Reduction System, which the company describes as cutting the noise normally made by a cooker hood while keeping air suction performance.
At 1200 CFM over an outdoor kitchen, that is the difference between a hood you run and a hood you switch off because guests cannot talk over it.
Does this mount on a wall or hang from the ceiling?
Wall mount. It anchors to the wall above the grill, which means the wall has to be framed and ducted for it before the finish goes on.
Which documents cover the rough-in?
The Falmec Line instruction manual and the 48 inch technical spec sheet linked in the description above carry the mounting and duct information.
Check the width designation on the spec sheet against the model you are ordering before you build the opening.
Let customers speak for us
I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
