RCS is proud to provide the industry’s most comprehensive warranty.
All RCS American Renaissance Grills, Cutlass Pro Series Grills and Cutlass Pro Series side burners, sinks, briquette trays, as well as ALL doors and drawers are warrantied to be free from manufacturer defects for the lifetime of the original owner.
All RCS Premier Series Grills and Premier Series Side Burners are warrantied to be free from manufacturer defects for 15 years to the original owner.
All RCS Refrigeration products are warrantied to be free from manufacturer defects for 7 years to the original owner.
All other products carry a one-year warranty to the original owner.
This RCS warranty is effective for product sales beginning April 14th, 2025.

This warranty excludes normal surface corrosion, discoloration, surface scratches and surface rust which may occur. Improper maintenance, salt spray, chemicals, pesticides will affect the look and integrity of the components of these products. RCS will not be responsible for any damage caused as a result of not following owner’s manual instructions. This non-transferrable warranty is limited to the replacement of original (one-time) defective parts, does not include shipping and labor to remove or install replacement parts, if necessary. The owner must retain and submit their original receipt with any warranty claim to receive warranty parts. The warranty applies to the original owner only. What kind of ice does the REFR3A make?
Nugget ice, the soft chewable kind that packs into a glass and takes on the flavor of the drink.
It melts more slowly than crushed ice and is easier on teeth than a hard cube, which is why it gets asked for by name.
How much ice can it produce and hold?
Up to 55 lbs a day, with 26 lbs of onboard storage.
Production is the daily total, so heavy use during a party can outrun the bin even though the machine keeps making ice.
What cutout does it need?
15-1/4" wide by 22-1/2" deep by 34-1/4" high.
What are the unit's own dimensions?
15" wide, 21-3/4" deep and 34-1/8" high.
Compared against the cutout, that leaves a small margin on each side for setting the unit in and pulling it back out.
Can the door be set to open the other way?
Yes. The door is reversible, so it can be hung for a left- or right-hand swing depending on which side of the island you serve from.
How does it drain?
Through a gravity drain, so the install needs a drain point below the unit.
If your island cannot give the drain a downhill path, RCS offers the RPUMP condensate pump separately.
What happens when the bin fills up?
An automatic shut-off stops production, so it will not keep making ice into a full bin and overflow.
What power does it need?
110V / 60 Hz, drawing 400 watts, so plan a receptacle inside the island behind the unit.
Does anything come with it for serving?
An ice shovel is included, so you are not scooping with a glass on day one.
Is it built to stay outside?
Yes. The REFR3A is UL certified for outdoor use and built in 304 stainless steel.
How does nugget ice compare to the RCS cube ice maker?
The nugget REFR3A makes 55 lbs a day of chewable nugget ice. The R-Series cube ice maker makes 44 lbs a day with adjustable cube size. Storage is 26 lbs on both.
Nugget suits sodas and cocktails you drink through; cubes last longer in a glass and in a cooler. Round out the rest of the bar with outdoor refrigerators.
