How wide an opening do I need to frame?
30 1/4" wide x 20 1/2" deep x 19 3/8" high. TrueFlame lists the TF-DC2-32-A for island openings from 30" to 34 7/8" wide, and that cutout sits at the bottom of the range.
How much of the island face does it cover?
32" wide by 22" high, at 20.5" deep. The face overlaps the cutout on all sides for a flush finish.
Is the access door left or right hinged?
Right-hinged, with a hidden hinge. Plan the swing before the island is built, because the hinge side is not something you flip later on this unit.
What does the door give me access to?
Gas connections, power and additional storage inside the island. Everything a built-in kitchen needs to reach occasionally but not daily.
Are the drawers soft-close?
Yes, both of them, on heavy-duty full-extension ball-bearing tracks. They pull clear of the face and shut without slamming.
Should I take the 30" or the 32"?
Go by the cutout you can frame. The 30" TF-DC2-30-A needs 27 3/4" of width; this one needs 30 1/4" and gives you a wider drawer and a wider door in return.
