What goes in the vented pullout?

Either a liquid propane tank or a trash bin, depending on how you run the island. The pullout is vented, which is what makes it suitable for the tank rather than only for refuse.

What cutout does the TF-DC2-33LP-A need?

31" wide x 20 3/8" deep x 19 3/8" high. TrueFlame lists it for island openings in the 30" to 34 7/8" width range, so the 31" cutout sits comfortably in the middle of that band.

What are the unit's own dimensions?

32.9" wide, 22" high and 20.5" deep. The face overhangs the cutout on every side, which is how the flush look is achieved.

How many pull-outs is that in total?

Three: two soft-close storage drawers plus the vented pullout underneath them. The two drawers are the ones you use daily; the pullout is where the tank or the bin hides.

Do the drawers come all the way out?

Yes. They ride on heavy-duty full-extension ball-bearing tracks and close soft, so you can reach the back of a drawer without fishing for it.

Why hide the propane tank in a drawer at all?

Because the alternative is a tank standing beside the island with a hose running to it. Building the tank into a vented 31" opening keeps the gas supply inside the structure and out of the walkway.

What is it made from?

How is this different from the 2-drawer and access door combos?

This unit spends its lower opening on a vented tank or trash pullout. The 32" 2-drawer and access door combo puts a right-hinged door there instead, giving you open access to gas and power connections but no dedicated tank drawer.
