RCS Built-In Grill Replacement: Older Cutlass and American Renaissance Models

If your RCS built-in grill is a Cutlass Pro RON30A or RON38A, today's RCS Cutlass Pro (RON30B, RON38B) and Cutlass Elite (CEG30, CEG38) use the same published opening, and RCS lists one insulating liner for the old and current models. RCS names its grills by cooking-surface width, not overall width, so a "30-inch" RCS needs a 33-inch opening. This page records the openings RCS published for its discontinued built-in grills, from RCS's own owner's manuals and product pages, and shows which current grill matches each one.

Last verified 2 October 2026. Prices change; the product page always shows the current price. Measure your actual opening before you order.

How to read this page

Status What it means
Confirmed same-opening replacement The manufacturer publishes the identical cutout width, depth and height for the old and current model and links them in its own documents (the same liner or jacket listing). An installer should still check your opening.
Same published opening The published openings match in all three dimensions, but no manufacturer document links the two models directly.
Dimensional candidate Close, but one dimension differs or is unresolved. The note says what to check.
No current match Nothing we sell fits the old opening without rebuilding it.

All figures are inches, written width × depth × height.

Which RCS do you have?

The model number is on the rating label. RCS's Cutlass Pro grills carried an A suffix (RON30A, RON38A, RON42A) before today's B models; the Cutlass Elite (CEG30, CEG38) is the newer premium line. RCS also made the American Renaissance grills (ARG30, ARG36, ARG42). RCS still sells parts for these grills.

Older RCS built-ins and their current match

Old model Original opening (W × D × H) Current grill Current opening Status Note
RON30A 33 × 20 × 11 RCS Cutlass Pro RON30B ($4,199) or Cutlass Elite CEG30 ($4,399) 33 × 20 × 11 Confirmed same-opening replacement RCS lists liner LJRON30 for "CEG30 & RON30A/B Grills Only"
RON38A 41¼ × 20 × 11 (RCS manuals from 2021; earlier manuals print 41) RCS Cutlass Pro RON38B ($4,799) or Cutlass Elite CEG38 ($4,999) 41¼ × 20 × 11 Confirmed same-opening replacement RCS lists liner LJRON38 for CEG38 and RON38A/B. If your opening was cut to 41, it needs widening ¼
RON42A 45 × 20 × 11 RCS Cutlass Pro RON42B ($4,999) 45 × 20 × 11 Same published opening RCS's liner LJRON42 page names only the RON42B
ARG36 (American Renaissance) 34⅝ × 23¼ × 103⁄16 — — No current match No current RCS grill matches this deeper, shorter opening
ARG42 (American Renaissance) 40⅝ × 23¼ × 103⁄16 — — No current match The closest RCS openings need different width, depth and height
RON27A, RON36A (original Cutlass) Not verified — — Not covered yet We could not find RCS figures for these

The RCS Premier grills (RJC26A, RJC32A, RJC40A) are current models, not discontinued ones. For American Renaissance and original Cutlass owners, send us your measured opening and we will compare it with every grill we sell.

If your island has an RCS liner

For the RON30A and RON38A, RCS lists the same liner for the old and current grills (LJRON30 needs a 35½ × 21¼ × 11¾ opening; LJRON38 needs 43⅝ × 21¼ × 12¼), so a jacketed island keeps the same liner opening.

Before you order

  • Read the model number from the rating label rather than going by size.
  • Measure the opening: width at the front and back, depth, and height to the first thing below the counter.
  • Check fuel: natural gas and propane are separate configurations.

Get help with your RCS replacement

Send us the old model number from the rating label, your measured opening (width at the front and back, depth, and height to the first thing below the counter), whether there is a liner or jacket, what the island is built from, and your fuel. Use the fit help form or call 843-212-7209. We are a retailer: installation must be confirmed by a qualified installer against the manufacturer's current instructions.

FAQ

Will a new RCS RON30B fit my old RON30A opening?

Yes on RCS's published figures: both need 33 × 20 × 11 inches, and RCS lists the same LJRON30 liner for the RON30A, RON30B and CEG30. An installer should still check your actual opening.

What replaces an RCS RON38A?

The RON38B or the Cutlass Elite CEG38. RCS's manuals since 2021 give the RON38A the same 41¼-inch-wide opening; earlier manuals printed 41 inches, so measure yours.

Is there a replacement for the RCS American Renaissance ARG36 or ARG42?

Not among current RCS grills: the ARG openings are about 23¼ inches deep and 103⁄16 high, unlike any current RCS model. Send us your measured opening and we will check every grill we sell.

Why does a 30-inch RCS need a 33-inch opening?

RCS names its grills by cooking-surface width rather than overall width, so the body and opening are wider than the number suggests.
