Artisan 42" Rotisserie Kit ART-ROT42 - For Artisan Series ART-42 Grills

This kit is often listed as being "for the American Eagle 42", but Artisan does not make a 42-inch American Eagle — that line stops at 36 inches. Alfresco lists the ART-ROT42 as the optional rotisserie for its 42-inch Artisan Series grill, the ART-42 built-in and ART-42C cart. It is the same three-part kit as the smaller sizes: a heavy-duty motor, a spit sized to the 42-inch firebox and forks. Artisan rates the motor at 50-lb torque, the care and use manual rates it to turn a cut of up to 25 lb with a maximum diameter of 10 inches, and the motor can connect at either end of the spit. It is a plug-in motor, so a grounded outlet near the grill is required.

Model and Installation Information

The ART-ROT42 fits the Artisan Series 42" grills (ART-42 built-in and ART-42C cart), which we do not currently stock. Alfresco lists it on the series pages for those grills as "optional", and it is not listed for the Professional line: every Artisan Professional grill already carries a rear infrared rotisserie burner and motor as standard.

Following the Artisan manual, the pointed end of the spit slots into the square opening of the motor coupler, the round end sits in the slot on the opposite side, and the forks slide on facing each other to hold the roast. The ART-42 uses 115 VAC electronic ignition, so its island should already have power available; the rotisserie motor plugs in separately through its own grounded plug. The Artisan Series has no rear infrared burner, so follow the ART-42 manual for rotisserie cooking and have a licensed electrician confirm the outlet.

Who This Model Is Best For

The ART-ROT42 is for an existing owner of a 42-inch Artisan Series grill who wants to add a rotisserie. We do not currently stock the ART-42 grill itself, so if you are shopping for a 42-inch Artisan with rotisserie cooking in mind, the Professional 42 is the model we carry, and its rotisserie is built in. Do not order this kit for a Professional 42 — it does not need one.
