Artisan's 17" single access door is the narrowest opening in the Artisan door lineup, made for the tight bays in a built-in grill island where a full double door will not fit — the gap beside a grill, the run under a side burner, or a slim end cabinet framed for a propane tank or a stack of tools. The door panel and frame are 304 stainless steel, and the polished handle is specified to match the chrome accents on Artisan Series gas grills, so a door added to an island later still reads as part of the same outdoor kitchen. It is sold in two versions, ARTP-17DL with a left hinge and ARTP-17DR with a right hinge, so the swing is chosen when the order is placed. A magnetic closure holds the door against the frame; there is no latch to operate.

They are separate models ordered as separate options, not a single door you re-hang in the field, so decide the swing before ordering — think about which way the door needs to clear a neighboring appliance door, an island corner, or the spot where someone stands to use it.

Download the ARTP-17DL spec sheet linked above and confirm the required rough opening against your island drawings before the island is built or an existing opening is modified, or call us and we will confirm the figures with you. Do not size an opening from the 17" nominal width alone, and do not reuse the cutout from an Artisan 26" single door or from any of the double-door models — every width has its own opening.

Choose this one when the island bay is genuinely narrow. At a 17" nominal width it is the smallest single access door Artisan makes, so it suits a filler cabinet between a grill and a corner, a slim tank bay, or an end-of-run access panel where a 26" single door or a 30"-plus double door would overrun the framing.
