Alfresco 42" Under-Grill Refrigerator Cart Model ARXE-42C
The Alfresco ARXE-42C is the cart version of Alfresco's 7.25 cubic foot all-weather outdoor refrigerator. Rather than dropping into an island, it carries an Alfresco 42-inch grill head on a freestanding refrigerated cart, a configuration Alfresco pioneered as the first and only grill on a refrigerated cart. You get the cold storage of a full outdoor refrigerator and the placement flexibility of a freestanding grill, with no masonry work required.
Underneath the grill, the refrigeration is identical to Alfresco's built-in unit: a 1,000 BTU all-weather system with a commercial fan-driven fin evaporator, digital control from 27°F to 56°F, and a Flash Recovery System that pulls the interior back to temperature after a long open door. The door section holds an adjustable stainless wire shelf while the two-drawer section is purpose-built for marinating, with removable NSF food pans included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a grill come with the ARXE-42C?
No. This is the refrigerated cart only, designed to carry a 42-inch Alfresco grill head that you buy separately.
Contact us before ordering and we will confirm the correct grill and cart pairing for your setup.
Why choose the cart over the built-in version?
No masonry work. The cart is freestanding, so you get full outdoor refrigeration under the grill without building an island.
If you are building an island anyway, the ARXE-42 is the drop-in version with the same refrigeration and the same 7.25 cubic feet.
How much cold storage is under the grill?
7.25 cubic feet, split between a door section with one adjustable stainless wire shelf and a two-drawer section.
What are the drawers for?
Marinating. They come with removable NSF food pans, so meat can sit in the pan overnight and go straight up to the grill.
What temperatures can I set?
27°F to 56°F, digitally adjustable. Cold enough for raw proteins at the low end, appropriate for wine or produce at the high end.
Does it need ventilation clearance around the cart?
No. It is fully front-breathing, taking in and exhausting air through the front.
Can it stay outside year-round?
Alfresco builds these as genuine all-weather units, designed to hold cold internal temperatures in high ambient outdoor heat. Performance varies with conditions.
What is the refrigeration system?
A 1,000 BTU all-weather system with a commercial fan-driven fin evaporator, the same platform Alfresco uses in its built-in unit.
Commercial polyurethane shot-in-place foam insulates the cabinet.
What recovers the temperature after a long cookout?
The Flash Recovery System, which pulls the interior back to setpoint after the door has been standing open.
