Which burner does the AGV-SB2 cover fit?

Alfresco specifies it for the AXESB-2 built-in dual side burner, in either natural gas or propane.

It is tailored to that burner, not a universal cover.

Will the AGV-SB2 fit my Intelligent Professional AIPGSB-2?

Very probably, but call 843-212-7209 first and we will confirm.

Alfresco publishes no separate cover for the Intelligent-series burners, and the AIPGSB-2 shares its burner body with the AXESB-2 — the difference is the control package, not the shell. We just have not had it confirmed in writing, and we would rather check than have you return a cover.

Does it fit the Sear Zone side burner?

Dealers list it both ways, so we will not claim it either way.

Some catalogues describe AGV-SB2 as the cover for the double side burner or the Sear Zone AXESZ; others list it for the AXESB-2 only. Call 843-212-7209 and we will confirm with Alfresco before you order.

My side burner is on a cart grill. Do I want this cover?

Usually not. A cart-mounted burner is part of the grill assembly, so a cover that goes over the whole grill and burner together protects more.

That is what the -CSB cart covers are for — for example the AGV-36CSB for a 36" cart grill with a side burner fitted.

What is the AGV-SB2 made of?

Weather-resistant vinyl, in black, with the Alfresco script on the front.

Is it waterproof?

Water-resistant, which is the honest description for a vinyl cover of this type.

It sheds rain and keeps grit, pollen and salt spray off the stainless steel. That is most of the job on a coastal install; it is not a sealed membrane.

Can I put it on straight after cooking?

No. Let the burner cool completely first.

Covering a warm burner traps steam under the vinyl, and on a recessed burner top that moisture has nowhere to go.

Do I really need to cover a side burner?

More than you need to cover the grill next to it, in our experience.

The recessed wells that shield the flames from wind also collect rain, leaves and grit when the burner is idle, and whatever lands in a well sits directly on the burner ports.

Does the burner not come with a cover already?

The AXESB-2 includes a stainless steel lid that sits over the recessed top. That is a different thing from this vinyl cover, which goes over the whole burner including the control panel.

Plenty of owners use both.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it down with mild soap and water and let it dry before it goes back on. Doing that occasionally also gets the salt off, which is what shortens a cover's life on the coast.
