How much does the URS-1XE hold?

Two removable, adjustable stainless steel wire shelves divide the space, and both come out entirely if you are storing something tall.

Can I turn it into a kegerator?

Yes, with Alfresco's optional keg kit, which is sold separately. It accepts a full half keg.

The conversion runs both ways, so you can go back to shelves later without buying a different unit.

What is the temperature range?

27°F to 56°F, set digitally on a lighted display.

The low end is cold enough for raw proteins and the high end suits wine or produce, so the same box can serve very different jobs.

Do I need clearance on the sides or behind it?

No. The unit is fully front-breathing, so it can be enclosed on the sides and back inside a masonry or framed island.

Can the door hinge on the other side?

Yes, the door is field-reversible, so it can be hung to open left or right depending on your layout. It swings a full 170 degrees.

Interior lighting is door-activated.

What does NSF certification mean here?

The URS-1XE is certified to National Sanitation Foundation standards, the same benchmark applied to commercial foodservice equipment.

Is it a genuine outdoor refrigerator?

Yes. Alfresco was the first company to build a true all-weather outdoor refrigerator, and this unit is engineered to hold cold internal temperatures when the ambient patio temperature is extreme.

Results still vary with conditions, but this is not an indoor refrigerator relabeled for outdoor use.

How is the interior kept evenly cold?

A 1,000 BTU refrigeration system feeds a commercial fan-driven fin evaporator that creates a constant horizontal vortex of air.

The Flash Recovery System pulls temperature back down quickly after the door has been open, which is what an outdoor unit spends most of a party doing.

What insulates it?

Commercial polyurethane shot-in-place foam, with stainless steel construction inside and out.

How much does it weigh?

Approximately 246 lbs. Factor that into your island framing and into how you plan to move it into place.
