Alfresco Sear Zone Kit AIPG-SZK-36 for 36" Intelligent Professional Grills
Alfresco invented the Sear Zone, combining an infrared burner with stainless steel burners in the same grill, and this kit adds that capability to a 36-inch Intelligent Professional grill. The AIPG-SZK-36 is the Multi-Position Sear Zone insert, which means you are not locked into one searing location: place the high-heat zone on the left, center, or right depending on how you are cooking, and add more than one zone if you want.
The practical result is a dedicated steakhouse-grade searing station inside a grill that still does everything else. Sear over infrared at one end while running gentler heat at the other for vegetables or holding finished food, without compromising either.

Which grills take the AIPG-SZK-36?
Alfresco's 36-inch Intelligent Professional grills, meaning the AIPG-36 built-in and the AIPG-36C cart model. The 42-inch grills use a different kit, and none of it is interchangeable with the ALXE series.
What does Multi-Position mean on this kit?
You choose where the searing zone sits. Unlike a fixed sear station, this insert can be placed at the left, center, or right of the cooking surface, and you can run more than one zone if you want additional searing area.
On a 36-inch surface, that flexibility decides how you cook. Put the high heat where it suits your routine rather than working around where the factory put it.
Why infrared rather than a hotter gas burner?
Infrared burners reach far higher surface temperatures than standard gas burners, and that is what produces an even steakhouse crust instead of grey banding across the meat. Alfresco was the first manufacturer to combine infrared and stainless steel burners in a single grill.
My AIPG already has a Sear Zone. Do I need this?
No. Some Intelligent Professional configurations ship with SearZone already installed, in which case this kit is redundant. Check the model designation on your grill before ordering.
What is the kit made of?
304 stainless steel, consistent with the rest of the Intelligent Professional series it installs into.
