Alfresco Sear Zone Kit AIPG-SZK-36 for 36" Intelligent Professional Grills

Alfresco invented the Sear Zone, combining an infrared burner with stainless steel burners in the same grill, and this kit adds that capability to a 36-inch Intelligent Professional grill. The AIPG-SZK-36 is the Multi-Position Sear Zone insert, which means you are not locked into one searing location: place the high-heat zone on the left, center, or right depending on how you are cooking, and add more than one zone if you want.

The practical result is a dedicated steakhouse-grade searing station inside a grill that still does everything else. Sear over infrared at one end while running gentler heat at the other for vegetables or holding finished food, without compromising either.

Which grills does the AIPG-SZK-36 fit?
It is specific to Alfresco's 36-inch Intelligent Professional grills, the AIPG-36 built-in and AIPG-36C cart model. The 42-inch grills use the AIPG-SZK-42. It is not interchangeable with ALXE series grills.

What does Multi-Position mean?
Unlike a fixed sear station, the Sear Zone insert can be positioned at the left, center, or right of the cooking surface, and you can run more than one zone. You decide where the high heat sits based on what you are cooking.

Do I need this if my grill already has a Sear Zone?
No. Check your model designation first. If your AIPG already shipped with SearZone, this kit would be redundant. Contact us with your model number and we will confirm before you order.

Why sear with infrared?
Infrared burners reach much higher surface temperatures than standard gas burners, which is what produces a true steakhouse crust rather than grey banding. Alfresco was the first manufacturer to combine infrared and stainless burners in one grill.
