Drop the specially designed insert into the grill, fill it with hardwood, lump charcoal, or another solid fuel, and you get genuine wood-cooking flavor from the same grill you use on a weeknight. When you want gas back, lift it out.

This is the accessory that answers the gas-versus-charcoal question by refusing it. Sear a steak over live coals on Saturday, run the burners on Tuesday, and never own two grills. How does the Alfresco Solid Fuel Insert work?

The insert is designed for solid fuel cooking. Alfresco also offers the Signature Taste smoking system for adding wood smoke while cooking on gas. Follow the care and use manual for your specific grill.
