Alfresco Glass Door Conversion Kit AXE-PZA-GD KIT

This is a retrofit kit, not an upgrade for a new oven. Alfresco's earlier countertop pizza ovens shipped with solid stainless steel doors, so you could not see a pizza without opening the oven and dumping the heat. This kit swaps those solid doors for stainless steel-framed glass ones.

Before you order, check which oven you have. Alfresco specifies this kit for pre-2017 AXE-PZA countertop pizza ovens. Current-production ovens already come with glass doors fitted, and this kit is not what you need. Why glass doors change how the oven works

A pizza oven runs hot and fast. A Neapolitan pizza is done in about three minutes, and it can go from perfect to burnt in the last twenty seconds. With solid doors your only way to check is to open them, which drops the chamber temperature exactly when you need it steady.

Glass doors let you watch the crust colour and the cheese without opening anything. On the current ovens Alfresco pairs them with a halogen oven light for the same reason.

Do I need this kit?

Only if your Alfresco countertop pizza oven predates 2017 and still has solid doors. If you are shopping for a new oven rather than upgrading an old one, the current AXE-PZA countertop oven and the AXE-PZA-BI built-in both include stainless steel-framed glass doors as standard.
