Artisan Insulating Liner Jacket for 26" Built-In Grill ART-IJ26

The 26-inch American Eagle is the most compact grill Artisan builds, which makes it a natural fit for smaller islands — a wood-built bar or a composite kit where every inch is spoken for. If that enclosure is combustible, Alfresco (Artisan's manufacturer) requires one of its own insulated jackets for a safe installation, and for this grill that part is the ARTIJ-26. It is a self-supporting 304 stainless steel box that the grill head slides into, isolating the firebox from the cabinet framing around it. It changes the opening you build: with the jacket the island cutout is 27-1/4" wide by 23-5/8" deep by 10-1/4" high, not the 24-1/2" x 19-3/4" x 9-1/2" the grill needs on its own. Northwoods Grills lists it as ART-IJ26; Alfresco's documents call it ARTIJ-26. Same part.

Model and Installation Information

The ARTIJ-26 fits the Artisan American Eagle 26" Built-In Gas Grill (AAEP-26). It does not fit the 26-inch American Eagle cart grill, and no other Artisan line is made in a 26-inch built-in, so fitment here is simple. The 32-, 36- and 42-inch heads each take their own jacket.

Build the island opening to the jacket, not the grill: 27-1/4" W x 23-5/8" D x 10-1/4" H. That is 2-3/4" wider, 3-7/8" deeper and 3/4" taller than the bare grill cutout, so an island framed to the grill's own numbers will not take the jacket. Alfresco's assembly sheet has the four panels screwed together first; the grill's countertop support ring is then taken off the firebox (keep its six screws), the grill is slid into the jacket over its support rails and the screws go back in, and the assembly is set into the counter on a bead of clear silicone. Confirm the figures against the spec sheet and your grill's installation manual before anything is cut, and have a licensed installer check the gas connection and local code — we do not publish clearance distances. Who This Model Is Best For

This is for someone putting a 26-inch American Eagle into an island that is not fully non-combustible — a wood-framed bar, a prefabricated composite island or a remodel where the old framing stays. It suits smaller patios and secondary grilling stations where the two-burner head was chosen for its footprint. If your island is solid block or poured concrete with no combustible elements near the grill, read the installation section of the AAEP-26 manual first; you may not need a jacket at all.
