Two of Artisan's three 32-inch lines ship without a rotisserie: the American Eagle and the newer Artisan Series. The ART-ROT32 is the kit Alfresco lists for both of them, in built-in and cart form, which is broader than the "American Eagle" name it is often sold under. Inside is a heavy-duty motor, a spit and forks. Artisan rates the motor at 50-lb torque, and the care and use manual rates it to turn a cut of up to 25 lb at up to 10 inches in diameter, with the motor able to connect at either end of the spit. On a three-burner 32-inch head that is room for a large chicken or a boneless rib roast. The motor runs from its own grounded plug, so an outlet near the grill is part of the plan.

The ART-ROT32 fits the Artisan American Eagle 32" built-in (AAEP-32), Artisan American Eagle 32" cart (AAEP-32C), Artisan Artisan Series 32" built-in (ART-32) and Artisan Artisan Series 32" cart (ART-32C). Alfresco lists it on the series pages for those grills as "optional", and it is not listed for the Professional line: every Artisan Professional grill already carries a rear infrared rotisserie burner and motor as standard.
The Artisan manual describes the assembly: seat the spit's pointed end in the motor coupler's square opening, rest the round end in the slot at the other end of the grill, and slide the forks on prongs-first toward the middle. The motor is grounded through its own plug. The Artisan Series 32 already needs power for its 110V ignition and lights, so an island built for it usually has an outlet nearby; the American Eagle 32 runs on battery ignition, so its island may not, and one should be added before counters go on. Neither grill has the Professional's rear infrared burner, so follow your grill's manual for rotisserie cooking and have a licensed electrician check the outlet.
This is for someone who already owns, or is buying, a 32-inch American Eagle or Artisan Series grill and wants spit roasting without paying for the Professional upgrade. It also suits a buyer weighing the two: the Professional 32 adds a rear infrared rotisserie burner and lighting as standard, while an American Eagle or Artisan Series grill plus this kit gets you a rotating spit for less. Owners of the Professional 32 do not need it.
