Frequently Asked Questions
What size opening does the AMD-RFR-22S need?
22 1/8" wide x 24" deep x 33 7/8" high. The unit measures 21.4" x 21.4" x 33.5", so frame to the cutout numbers and not to the cabinet.
Does the door lock?
Yes, and it is a reversible locking door that can be flipped in the field. If the island layout changes or you get the swing wrong, you are not stuck with it.
What is the capacity?
4.1 cubic feet, rated to hold up to 156 cans. Wire racks and a separate storage compartment divide that space up inside.
What ambient temperatures is it approved for?
It holds UL-outdoor certification across a 32 to 72 degree Fahrenheit range. Above or below that band you are outside what the certification covers.
Will it overheat in a closed island?
No, it is front-vented, which is exactly what a built-in refrigerator needs to sit in an enclosed cutout. Air moves through the front grille rather than out the back.
Is there a light inside?
Yes. The interior is finished in black with an interior light, so the contents stay visible without a flashlight.
How do I get it sitting level in the island?
Leg-levelers are built in underneath the cabinet. Adjust those rather than shimming, particularly on a poured or tiled island base.
What do I gain by stepping up to the Deluxe version?
The Deluxe AMD-RFR-22D is specified with a stainless steel door and handle and needs a marginally smaller 22" x 23 1/2" x 33 3/4" cutout.
Both units hold 156 cans, both vent from the front and both use a reversible locking door, so the choice is about the door treatment and the opening you already have. The full range sits in outdoor refrigerators.
Let customers speak for us
I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
