How is the premium cover different from Alfresco's standard vinyl?
Different material, not a heavier grade of the same one. The AGV-36-PREM uses woven textured PVC leather with a felt-lined interior; the standard AGV-36 is water-resistant canvas vinyl.
Both keep weather off a 36-inch grill. The premium adds cold tolerance, a lining that will not scuff stainless, and a finish that reads as part of the kitchen rather than a tarp thrown over it.
How does it handle freezing weather?
It is anti-freeze treated to minus 25 degrees Celsius, or minus 13 Fahrenheit. Repeated hard freezes are what kill covers, because a stiffened material cracks at the folds and then stops sealing.
Does it work on a 36-inch grill mounted on a cart?
No. This is cut to the built-in grill head. A 36-inch grill on a cart needs the AGV-36C-PREM, which extends down over the cart body.
Can I put it on right after cooking?
Let the grill cool completely first. Covering a hot grill traps steam underneath, and that happens regardless of which cover tier you own. A periodic wipe-down of the cover itself is the rest of the maintenance.
