Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a cart grill or a built-in?
This is the freestanding cart configuration, model C3CL36LP-FS. It stands on its own cart and is not designed to be sunk into an island opening.
Compare it against the rest of the Coyote cart grills if you are shopping this format specifically.
What fuel does it use?
Liquid propane, carried in the model code C3CL36LP-FS. Check that designation against how you plan to fuel it before ordering.
How much heat do the burners make?
80,000 BTUs from the main burner system, which is what gives it fast preheat and enough recovery to keep searing after you load the grate.
How much cooking space is there?
640 square inches of primary cooking space, 875 square inches in total, a full 36-inch class surface.
What are the dimensions of the grill body?
The frame is listed at 36" W x 27" D x 19" H. That is the grill itself, so allow additional clearance for the cart underneath and around it.
What is it made of?
304 stainless steel for the body and components, which is what keeps it from rusting through in weather exposure that a cart grill gets year-round.
How good are the grates?
Heavy-duty cooking grates built for heat retention. Retained heat is what marks the food when it hits the grate instead of steaming it.
How is cleanup handled?
A grease management system collects drippings for removal, rather than leaving them to build up in the bottom of the cook box.
How do the controls work?
Heavy-duty knobs, one per burner, so you set each zone independently and can keep one section low while another runs hot.
Is there a built-in version of the same grill?
Yes. The CL-Series 36" built-in is the island model, with a 32 1/2-inch cutout and a spring-assisted hood. The rotisserie kit is sold separately on the CL-Series, and the CL has no rear burner.
If an island is in your plans, buy the built-in rather than trying to sink the cart version into masonry.
Let customers speak for us
I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
