GAS GRILLS
The Summerset TRL Pro 40" Built-In Gas Grill (TRLPRO40) is built for outdoor kitchens that demand serious cooking power, premium construction, and a refined, professional appearance. Designed for homeowners who want more space, more control, and more performance, this 40-inch built-in grill delivers a true step up in outdoor cooking capability.
Constructed from commercial-grade #304 stainless steel, the TRL Pro 40 is engineered to withstand the elements while maintaining its sleek, high-end finish. Its four high-performance burners provide strong, even heat across the entire grilling surface, giving you the flexibility to handle everything from high-heat searing to low-and-slow cooking.
The larger 40-inch cooking surface makes this grill ideal for entertaining, allowing you to cook for larger groups without sacrificing control or consistency. Multiple cooking zones give you the ability to grill different foods at different temperatures simultaneously, an essential feature for serious outdoor chefs.
A rear infrared burner expands your options, making it easy to incorporate rotisserie cooking into your outdoor kitchen. Combined with a precision-designed internal cooking system, the TRL Pro 40 promotes even heat distribution and reduces flare-ups, helping you achieve consistent, repeatable results.
Designed with usability in mind, the grill features a reliable flame-thrower ignition system for quick startups, along with interior lighting and illuminated control knobs for nighttime cooking. The double-lined hood improves heat retention while protecting the exterior finish, and heavy-duty cooking grates deliver excellent heat retention and searing performance.
A 40-inch grill head needs more than 40 inches of island. Allow for the cutout plus clearance on both sides, and remember that a rear infrared burner adds depth at the back. If you are retrofitting into an existing island built for a 32-inch head, the opening will almost certainly need widening. Send us your measurements before ordering and we will check it with you.

An insulating liner is generally required when a built-in appliance is installed in an island built from combustible materials. Always follow the appliance's installation manual and local code.
Frequently Asked Questions
38 1/2 inches wide by 20 3/4 inches deep by 9 3/8 inches high. Overall the head measures 39.88 inches wide, 24.63 inches deep and 22.25 inches high.
Not without widening the opening. A 32-inch head sits in a 30 1/2 inch cutout and this one needs 38 1/2 inches, so the masonry has to change.
Measure your existing opening in all three directions and compare it to those numbers before you order, because the rear burner also adds depth at the back of the box.
Four main burners rated at 20,000 BTUs each, for 80,000 BTUs total, plus a rear infrared burner. That is the highest main-burner output in the Summerset built-in range covered here.
Yes, the rotisserie comes with the grill and works off the rear infrared burner, so roasting is available out of the box.
676 square inches of main grilling area, 876 square inches in total. Enough width to run a full sear zone and still have room for vegetables and buns.
Commercial-grade #304 stainless steel, which keeps its finish in harsh outdoor conditions better than the #443 used on the Sizzler lines.
Yes. Four independently controlled burners create multiple cooking zones across the 40-inch surface, so a low zone and a searing zone can run at the same time.
Interior lighting and illuminated control knobs are both fitted. On a grill this wide, seeing the far corner of the grates matters more than it does on a 32.
185 pounds. Two people and a plan, not one person and optimism.
Yes, in natural gas or propane. The configuration is fixed when the grill is built, so confirm what is run to the island first.
The double-lined hood improves heat retention and protects the exterior finish, and heavy-duty grates hold temperature for searing instead of dropping when food lands on them.
Yes. The TRL Pro 40 on the deluxe cart mounts this head on a matching #304 cart with drawers, cabinet storage and casters.
