What size cutout does the TF-DD-33V-A need?
Frame the opening at 30 1/4" wide by 19 3/8" high. The door itself is 33" wide by 22" high, so the frame overlaps the island face on all four sides for a flush, finished look.
How much room does it take up behind the island face?
Only 1.82" of depth. Everything else in that cavity stays usable, which is why this door works over gas connections, power hookups, and general island storage.
Why is this door vented?
The vents move air through the island interior instead of sealing it shut. If you are running gas or electrical connections inside the enclosure, that airflow is the reason to choose the vented TF-DD-33V-A over a solid door.
My island opening is 34 inches wide. Will this door cover it?
Yes. TrueFlame builds this 33" door for finished openings between 30" and 34 7/8", so a 34" opening falls inside the range as long as your cutout matches 30 1/4" x 19 3/8".
How do the doors stay closed if there are no visible hinges?
Magnetic latches hold both doors shut, and the hidden-hinge design keeps the hardware out of sight from the front. You get a clean face with nothing protruding into the walkway.
Will 304 stainless hold up in an outdoor island?
That is what it is made of, and it is the reason this door wipes clean rather than staining. The panels are double-walled, so the door has structure behind the skin instead of flexing when you pull it.
What is stored behind a door like this?
Gas connections, power hookups, and anything you want out of the weather. The double doors open the full 33" span, so you are not reaching around a center post to get to a regulator or a shutoff.
