If your 36-inch Alfresco grill is going into anything other than solid non-combustible masonry, this jacket is part of the installation, not an accessory. The AIJ-36-01 is Alfresco's specified insulating liner for dropping a 36-inch grill head into a wood-framed, composite, or similar combustible island, creating the thermal barrier between the grill body and the surrounding structure.
It does two jobs at once. It keeps sustained grill heat away from framing, cabinetry, and adjacent finishes, and it gives the grill a properly engineered enclosure instead of an improvised one. Built from stainless steel to match the grill it surrounds, it holds up to the same outdoor conditions and the same heat cycling, year after year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Alfresco lists it as the insulated jacket for its 36-inch grills, including the ALXE-36 and the Intelligent Professional AIPG-36.
Check the current spec sheet against your exact model and production year before ordering, since a grill can change across production runs.
Not if the island is combustible. For a wood-framed, composite or similar enclosure it is part of the installation rather than an upgrade. A fully non-combustible masonry island may not need one — confirm against the installation manual and local code.
They change. A jacketed opening is not the same as a bare built-in opening, so frame to the jacket's spec sheet and not the grill's.
Framing, cabinetry and any adjacent finishes. It holds sustained grill heat off the structure around the cutout, and it gives the grill a properly engineered enclosure instead of one improvised on site.
It is 304 stainless steel, built to the same standard as the grill it surrounds, so it takes the same outdoor exposure and the same repeated heat cycling year after year.
No. The $869 covers the jacket alone; the grill head is a separate purchase.
No. Jackets are sized to the grill they surround, so a 36-inch grill takes the 36-inch jacket. The other sizes are in the grill liners collection.
