Alfresco 42" Insulated Jacket AIJ-42-01
The AIJ-42-01 is Alfresco's specified insulating liner for installing a 42-inch grill head into a combustible island. On a grill this size, running three burners plus a rear infrared rotisserie burner and an integrated smoker, the heat load against surrounding structure is significant. The jacket is what stands between that heat and your framing.
It also gives you a properly engineered enclosure rather than a field-improvised one, which matters for inspection as much as for longevity. Stainless steel construction means the liner matches the grill for outdoor durability and handles the same repeated heat cycling without degrading.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why would a 42-inch grill need an insulated jacket?
Because of the heat load. The 42-inch Alfresco runs three burners plus a rear infrared rotisserie burner and an integrated smoker, and the jacket is what stands between that heat and your framing.
When exactly is it required?
Whenever the grill goes into combustible island construction, such as a wood or composite frame. Non-combustible masonry islands may not require one. Check Alfresco's installation manual and your local building code before framing.
Does the AIJ-42-01 fit both the ALXE-42 and the AIPG-42?
Alfresco lists it as the jacket for its 42-inch grills, including the ALXE-42 and the Intelligent Professional AIPG-42. Confirm the current spec sheet for your exact model before you order.
Do I frame to the grill's cutout or the jacket's?
The jacket's. A jacketed installation needs a different opening than a bare built-in, so the jacket spec sheet is the one your builder should work from.
Does it make any difference at inspection?
It gives you a properly engineered enclosure rather than a field-improvised one, which matters for inspection as much as it does for longevity.
What is it built from?
304 stainless steel, so it handles the same outdoor conditions and the same repeated heat cycling as the grill inside it without degrading.
Is the grill included at $905?
No. This listing is the insulated jacket only.
Let customers speak for us
I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
