An Alfresco side burner is the perfect complement sitting next to your grill for boiling, heating, and simmering anything you need to put into a pot. Built from all commercial stainless steel with heli-arc welded seams, the side burner features two high-performance burners with electronic ignition. The recessed top and stainless steel cover offers protection from wind and elements.

What does the Sear Zone burner actually do?
It is Alfresco's ceramic infrared searing system in a self-contained side unit. It reaches 1500°F in four minutes and cooks 50% faster with virtually no flare-ups.
Infrared at that temperature puts a crust on a steak in a way a conventional gas burner cannot, and it does it beside your grill instead of taking up grill space.
What size cutout does the AXESZ need?
13 1/2" wide by 10 1/4" high.
Take the cutout depth from the AXESZ spec sheet linked in the description above, and confirm all three dimensions before the island is framed.
Does it need power?
Yes, 110V for the electronic ignition. The precision knob lighting runs on the same supply.
Is it protected from wind?
The top is recessed, which shields the burner, and a stainless steel cover protects it from wind and weather when it is not in use.
How is it built?
All commercial stainless steel with heli-arc welded seams, the same construction Alfresco uses across its outdoor kitchen components.
Can I order it for propane?
Yes, it is available in LP or natural gas. Choose the configuration that matches your gas line or tank.
Is this a built-in unit?
Yes. The AXESZ drops into an island or cabinet cutout and is not portable.
Should I buy this or a regular side burner?
Buy this if you want high-heat searing. It is a searing burner, not a pot burner, and its ceramic infrared element is aimed at steaks and chops rather than sauces.
If you need to boil, simmer and saute beside the grill, the AXESB-2 double side burner is the unit for that job.
Can I sear on my grill instead?
Some Alfresco grills offer a built-in Sear Zone burner as an option. The AXESZ is the standalone version, which is the way to add infrared searing to an island where the grill was not ordered with one.
