Alfresco Intelligent Professional 24" Versa Power Cooker AIPGVP

The Versa Power is the burner you buy when a normal side burner is not enough. Two independently controlled burners give it a range from 400 to 65,000 BTUH — low enough to hold a hollandaise without breaking it, high enough to bring a 100-quart stock pot to a rolling boil. The heavy 5/16" stainless spider grate carries that whole span, so a small saucepan sits as steady as a crab pot.

The AIPGVP is the Intelligent Professional trim of that burner, with LumaTouch™ precision control panel lighting that matches an AIPG grill's controls. Same burner system as the AXE-series Versa Power; different control package.

Before the island gets cut: about the cutout dimensions

There is no cutout measurement in the list above, and that is deliberate. Alfresco does publish an AIPGVP spec sheet, but it draws two different installation configurations — flush and recessed — with different openings for each, and the dimension callouts do not survive automated reading cleanly enough for us to stand behind a number in stone.

Call 843-212-7209 and we will read the current AIPGVP cutout drawing with you, for the configuration you are actually building, before your fabricator templates the counter. A power burner opening is not a cut you get to redo.

What the manufacturer does state plainly: 3" minimum clearance around the whole perimeter to combustible construction. If the burner goes under overhead combustible construction, Alfresco requires a UL-710 or ULC-S646 approved heavy-duty vent hood, running whenever the burner runs, mounted at least 30" above the cooking surface, rated 1,200 CFM baffled or 900 CFM non-baffled.

AIPGVP or AXEVP — which Versa Power do you need?

The burner is the same. Both are 400 to 65,000 BTUH, both use the brass centre burner and stainless outer tube burner, both take the same 5/16" spider grate and the same 100-quart pots.

The difference is the control panel. The AIPGVP carries LumaTouch precision control lighting matched to the AIPG Intelligent Professional grills. The AXEVP Versa Power cooker is the AXE-series version and costs less.

Buy the AIPGVP if it is going in beside an AIPG grill and you want the controls to match. Buy the AXEVP if it is going in beside an ALXE or AXE grill, or standing on its own where the panel lighting does not matter.

Power burner, double side burner, or sear burner?

These three do genuinely different jobs, and buying the wrong one is the most common mistake we see on this part of an island.

The Versa Power is for volume and for range: seafood boils, frying, stocks, canning, and — at the other end — sauce work at 400 BTU that a normal burner cannot hold. Alfresco also calls it out for European French Top use, where you move pans across a heat gradient.

A double side burner is for everyday pots and pans beside the grill: two conventional burners for sides, sauces and blanching. That is the AIPGSB-2 in the Intelligent line, or the AXESB-2 in the AXE line.

A sear burner is for high-heat searing only, not pot work — that is the Alfresco Sear Zone AXESZ. Compare the whole category in our burners collection, or just this price band in side burners over $2,000.

Fuel and utility requirements

Order the variant that matches the gas you have. Natural gas connects through a 1/2" NPT fitting. Propane uses a 3/8" ODF inlet at 10.0" W.C. and ships with the PROP-KIT-01 hose and dual in-line regulator terminating in a QCC1 connection for a standard 20 lb. cylinder. The two configurations are not interchangeable in the field.

Electrically it needs 115 VAC at 1.0 A on a GFCI-protected circuit — Alfresco requires GFCI, not merely recommends it. The 8 ft. cord ends in a three-prong grounding plug, so plan a weather-rated outlet inside the island within reach. A 65,000 BTU burner also asks more of a gas line than a side burner does; our natural gas and propane grills FAQs cover how to think about supply sizing, and your installer should size the run for the total connected load of the island, not this appliance alone.

Why buy from Northwoods Grills

We are a family-owned outdoor kitchen retailer in Charleston, South Carolina. A Versa Power is a specifying decision as much as a purchase — opening size, gas capacity, hood requirement, where the pot filler goes — and when you call you reach someone who has put these into real islands.

Free shipping, no credit card fees, and no invented numbers. Where Alfresco's own documents disagree or a figure cannot be read cleanly, we leave it out and go get it for you rather than guess.

Alfresco Intelligent Professional 24" Versa Power Cooker AIPGVP - 65,000 BTU, Dual Independent Burners, 304 Stainless Steel with LumaTouch Lighting

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the heat range on the Alfresco AIPGVP Versa Power?

400 to 65,000 BTUH, which is the widest span you will find on an outdoor burner.

400 BTU holds a hollandaise without breaking it. 65,000 brings a 100-quart stock pot to a rolling boil. That range is the entire point of the appliance.

How do the two burners on the Versa Power work?

They are individually controlled. The brass center burner adjusts from 400 to 20,000 BTU, and the stainless steel outer tube burner runs from 5,000 to 45,000 BTU.

Run either alone or both together for the full 65,000 BTU, so you only heat as much of the burner face as the pan actually needs.

Is AIPGVP the same as AIPGEVP?

Yes. Alfresco's published model number is AIPGVP, and the same burner appears in some listings and order systems as AIPGEVP.

If you are cross-referencing a quote or an invoice and the letters do not match exactly, call 843-212-7209 and we will confirm you are looking at the same unit.

What is the difference between the AIPGVP and the AXEVP?

The control panel, not the burner. Both deliver 400 to 65,000 BTU from the same brass center and stainless outer tube burner arrangement.

The AIPGVP is the Intelligent Professional trim with LumaTouch precision control panel lighting matched to the AIPG grills. The AXEVP is the AXE-series version and costs less. Match the burner to the grill it sits beside.

What cutout does the AIPGVP need?

We do not publish one, because we cannot read Alfresco's drawing reliably enough to stand behind a number.

Alfresco's AIPGVP spec sheet shows two installation configurations, flush and recessed, with different openings for each. Call 843-212-7209 and we will go through the current drawing with you for the configuration you are building, before the counter is templated.

What size pots will the Versa Power take?

Anything from the smallest saucepan up to a 100-quart stock pot.

The 5/16" diameter stainless steel spider grate is built for that whole span, so a small pan does not sit unstable over a large opening. A removable trivet comes with it.

Does the AIPGVP need electricity?

Yes. 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 1.0 amp, with an 8 ft. cord and a three-prong grounding plug.

Alfresco requires a GFCI-protected circuit, so plan a weather-rated outlet inside the island within reach of the burner cabinet.

What gas pressure does the AIPGVP need?

Propane operates at 10.0" W.C. through a 3/8" ODF inlet. Natural gas connects through a 1/2" NPT fitting.

On the natural gas manifold pressure, Alfresco's spec sheet and its care and use manual print different figures for this model, so we are not publishing one. Call 843-212-7209 before the gas line is sized and we will confirm the correct figure for your serial number with Alfresco.

Does the propane version come with a regulator?

Yes. LP models include the PROP-KIT-01 assembly.

That is a 36" hose with a 3/8" ODF fitting and a dual in-line regulator ending in a QCC1 connection for a standard 20 lb. cylinder.

Can I convert the AIPGVP between natural gas and propane?

No. Order the fuel you have.

The two configurations use different inlet fittings and operate at different pressures, so choose before the island is plumbed.

Does the AIPGVP need a vent hood?

Only under overhead combustible construction, and then it is mandatory.

Alfresco requires a UL-710 or ULC-S646 approved heavy-duty vent hood, operating whenever the burner runs, at least 30" above the cooking surface, rated 1,200 CFM baffled or 900 CFM non-baffled. Send us a photo of your structure and we will tell you what applies.

How far does the AIPGVP have to sit from wood framing?

3" minimum clearance around the entire perimeter of the unit to combustible construction.

What is the AIPGVP made of?

Commercial quality type 304 stainless steel, with a brass center burner and a stainless steel outer tube burner.

The 304 grade is the non-rusting, non-magnetic stainless that holds up to salt air, which matters on a coastal install.

Can the Versa Power be used as a French top?

Yes. Alfresco specifically calls out European French Top use.

Working pans across the heat gradient of the two rings, rather than over a single ring, is what a French top does, and the independently controlled burners are what make it possible here.

Do you stock the Versa Power accessories?

Not currently. Alfresco publishes several accessories for this burner, and we do not have them in the catalog at the moment.

Call 843-212-7209 and we will tell you what we can source and what it costs, rather than have you order the wrong part number.

Should I buy a power burner or a double side burner?

Buy the power burner for volume and range; buy a double side burner for everyday pots and pans.

If your cooking is seafood boils, frying, stocks and canning, or you want real simmer control at 400 BTU, the Versa Power is the right appliance. If you just need two conventional burners beside the grill for sides and sauces, the AIPGSB-2 double side burner costs considerably less and takes up less counter.

What does the Alfresco warranty cover on this burner?

Two years on parts and labor, five years on gas valves and drip pans, and a limited lifetime warranty on stainless steel components.

Full terms are on our warranty information page.

How cold can it be used in?

Alfresco gives a minimum operating temperature of 0°F for this appliance.
