American Outdoor Grill (AOG) Built-In Grill Replacement: Older L, T and Pre-2015 Models

If your American Outdoor Grill (AOG) built-in is a 2015–2025 L-Series or T-Series (model numbers like 30NBL or 36NBT), the 2026 AOG grill of the same size uses the same published cutout, and AOG lists one insulating liner for both. Pre-2015 AOG built-ins are close but not identical. This page records the openings in AOG's own installation manuals and shows which current AOG grill matches each older model.

Last verified 2 October 2026. Measure your actual opening before you order. Prices are on each product page.

How to read this page

Status What it means
Confirmed same-opening replacement The manufacturer publishes the identical cutout width, depth and height for the old and current model and links them in its own documents (here, one liner listing naming both). An installer should still check your opening.
Same published opening The published openings match in all three dimensions, but no manufacturer document links the two models directly.
Dimensional candidate Close, but one dimension differs or something else needs changing. The note says what.
Not covered We could not verify the original figure from a manufacturer document.

All figures are inches, written width × depth × height. AOG's L-Series has lights and a back burner; the T-Series does not. "N" is natural gas and "P" is propane.

Which AOG do you have?

The model number is on the rating label. AOG built-ins fall into three generations: pre-2015 models numbered 24NB, 30NB, 36NB; the 2015–2025 L-Series and T-Series (24/30/36 NBL and NBT for natural gas; propane versions are numbered PBL and PBT); and the 2026 models numbered AOG24, AOG30 and AOG36 with L or T and N or P (for example AOG36LN).

2015–2025 L-Series and T-Series

Old model Original opening (W × D × H) Current grill Current opening Status Note
24NBL / 24NBT (and propane PBL/PBT) 24½ × 19½ × 8½ AOG 24" L-Series AOG24LN / AOG24LP or T-Series AOG24TN / AOG24TP 24½ × 19½ × 8½ Confirmed same-opening replacement AOG's liner sheet lists 24NB(L,T) and AOG24(L,T)(N,P) for the same 24-IL-C liner
30NBL / 30NBT 30½ × 19½ × 8½ (manuals before 2019 print 30⅝) AOG 30" L-Series AOG30LN / AOG30LP or T-Series AOG30TN / AOG30TP 30½ × 19½ × 8½ Confirmed same-opening replacement Same 30-IL-C liner. An opening cut to 30⅝ is ⅛ wider; the new head's flange still overlaps about 1⅝ per side
36NBL / 36NBT 36¾ × 19½ × 8½ (manuals before 2019 print 36⅞) AOG 36" L-Series AOG36LN / AOG36LP or T-Series AOG36TN / AOG36TP 36¾ × 19½ × 8½ Confirmed same-opening replacement Same 36-IL-C liner. An opening cut to 36⅞ is ⅛ wider; the flange still overlaps about 1⅝ per side

Countertop overhang. If your countertop overhangs the front of the island, AOG specifies a wider notch at the front for the control panel, and the 2026 notch is wider than the 2015–2025 one: about 1½ inches more on each side for the 24-inch and about 17⁄16 inches more on each side for the 30 and 36. A flush countertop needs no change.

T-Series built 2014–2016. AOG's early T-Series manuals named the older 24/30/36-IL-B liner, whose cutout we could not find. If your island has an IL-B liner, send us the opening before you order.

Accessories that may not carry over

AOG's current rotisserie kit instructions say the kit is for 2026 T-Series grills and newer only, so check rotisserie compatibility before reusing an older kit. Covers are sized by grill width; check the cover listed for your new model.

Before you order

  • Read the model number from the rating label.
  • Measure the opening: width at the front and back, depth, and height to the first thing below the counter, and note whether the countertop overhangs the front.
  • Check fuel: N (natural gas) and P (propane) are separate models.
  • Check whether the island has an AOG liner, and which one (IL-B or IL-C).

Get help with your AOG replacement

Send us the old model number from the rating label, your measured opening (width at the front and back, depth, and height to the first thing below the counter), whether there is a liner or jacket, what the island is built from, and your fuel. Use the fit help form or call 843-212-7209. We are a retailer: installation must be confirmed by a qualified installer against the manufacturer's current instructions.

FAQ

Will a 2026 AOG grill fit my 2015–2025 AOG opening?

On AOG's published figures, yes: AOG's current manuals for the 2015–2025 L and T-Series and the 2026 manual give the same cutout, and AOG lists one IL-C liner for both. If your countertop overhangs the front, the notch for the control panel must be widened.

My AOG opening is 30⅝ or 36⅞ wide. Will the new grill cover it?

Yes on the figures: the 2026 heads are 33⅞ and 40⅛ inches wide, so they overlap a 30⅝ or 36⅞ opening by about 1⅝ inches on each side. Older AOG manuals printed those wider figures.

What replaces a pre-2015 AOG 24NB?

The 2026 AOG 24-inch L or T-Series has the same published opening, 24½ × 19½ × 8½ inches. AOG does not link the two models directly.

Can I keep my AOG rotisserie kit?

Possibly not: AOG says its current rotisserie kit is for 2026 T-Series grills and newer. Check the kit listed for your new grill.
