Four brands we carry make an origin claim we are willing to repeat: American Made Grills, American Outdoor Grills, Alfresco and Artisan. Everything else in the built-in grill catalog either publishes no manufacturer origin claim at all, or publishes a claim about design and engineering rather than manufacture. Those are different claims, and this page keeps them apart. If you want the short answer: the American Made Grills Atlas 36" at $4,335 is the best-value entry into a brand whose origin claim is in its name, and the Alfresco ALXE-36 at $7,079 is the choice when you want the strongest published manufacturing language and commercial-grade build.

"American made" is not one claim. It is at least five, and they are not interchangeable. A buyer who wants US manufacture and buys on a badge alone frequently gets something else.
Our position as a retailer is simple. We are an authorized dealer, not a manufacturer — we build nothing. We therefore do not generate origin claims. We repeat the manufacturer's own published wording, and where a manufacturer publishes none, we say so instead of filling the gap with an implication. That is the whole method of this page, and it is why the honest section further down is the most useful part of it.
The origin claim here is carried in the brand name itself, and we quote no longer statement than the one the manufacturer publishes. American Made Grills is the deepest American-claim line we stock, spanning five distinct series at very different price points. The Atlas 36" ATS36-B at $4,335 is the entry: 3 burners, 49,500 BTUs, 628 sq in of main grilling area, 304 stainless. The Alturi 36" ALT36T at $6,153.85 moves to 78,000 BTUs across 3 U-tube burners with 660 sq in of main grilling area. The Estate 36" EST36 at $8,335 runs 93,000 BTUs. At the top, the Encore 36" Hybrid ENC36 at $10,158.72 is a 5-burner, 110,000 BTU head that runs gas, charcoal and wood in the same cabinet.
The practical advantage of this brand is not just origin. It is that the American Made Grills range is unusually complete — grills, side and power burners, doors, drawers and matching insulating liners all designed to sit in one island. If a single-brand island matters to you, start here. Details on the line are in our American Made Grills built-in grill FAQs.
American Outdoor Grills states its grills are "engineered, fabricated and assembled in the USA." Read that carefully, because it is a precise piece of writing: it claims fabrication and assembly, and it does not make an unqualified "Made in USA" claim about every component. That is a stronger statement than most brands publish and a more careful one than many buyers assume they are getting.
The line is straightforward. T-Series is the base head; L-Series adds interior lighting and a rear rotisserie burner. The T-Series 30" AOG30TN is $3,539 with 3 burners, 45,000 BTUs and 540 sq in of main grilling area. The L-Series 36" AOG36LN is $4,775 with 3 burners, 50,000 BTUs and 648 sq in. The T-Series 24" AOG24TN at $3,115 is the smallest built-in in the range at 2 burners and 32,000 BTUs.
Two data notes, because we would rather be dull than wrong. The 30" L-Series product title lists 57,000 BTUs; the structured specification and the manufacturer both give 45,000, so we use 45,000. On the 36" T-Series, the title says 3 burners and the structured field says 4, so we publish no burner count for that model until it is resolved. More in the American Outdoor Grills FAQs and the full AOG collection.
Alfresco publishes the most direct manufacturing language of the four, describing its grills as "made and manufactured in the USA." This is the brand for buyers who want the manufacturing claim itself to be unambiguous, and it is priced accordingly.
The ALXE-30 at $5,169 is a 2-burner head with an infrared rotisserie. The ALXE-36 at $7,079 runs 3 Accufire burners under an EZ-Lift hood. The ALXE-42 at $7,885 adds infrared rotisserie capacity in a wider cabinet. Alfresco also builds matching Versa Power 24" power burner at $2,485 and the Sear Zone infrared side burner at $2,019, so a full Alfresco run is achievable in one brand. Background in the Alfresco built-in grill FAQs.
Artisan is the most careful entry on this list, and we want to be exact about why it qualifies. What is supportable is a corporate-location fact: Artisan's parent company, Superior Equipment Solutions, is located in City of Industry, California. A company address is not by itself a manufacturing claim. We include Artisan because that US corporate presence is documented, and we are telling you plainly that it is a weaker basis than the Alfresco or American Outdoor Grills wording above. If the strength of the origin claim is your deciding factor, Artisan should rank below the other three on this page.
On the merits of the grills themselves, Artisan is the value end of this group. The American Eagle 26" is $2,105 with 2 burners and 40,000 BTUs. The American Eagle 36" is $2,959 with 3 burners and 60,000 BTUs. The Professional 32" at $3,109 and the Professional 36" at $3,495 add a rotisserie and, on the 36", 75,000 BTUs. See the Artisan built-in grill collection and the Artisan FAQs.

This is the section most guides leave out, and it is the reason to trust the rest of the page. The following brands are frequently assumed to be American-built by buyers and by other retailers. We make no origin claim for any of them. That is not an accusation that they are built overseas — we do not know, and neither does anyone who tells you otherwise without a source. It means the manufacturer publishes no origin statement we can verify, so we decline to make one on their behalf in either direction.
Memphis deserves its own line because its language is precise and easy to misread. Memphis states its pellet grills are designed, engineered and tested in the USA. That is a claim about design, engineering and testing. It is not a claim of US manufacture, and we do not present it as one. If you want a built-in pellet grill, the pellet grill collection and the pellet grill FAQs are the right starting point — just buy it on its merits rather than on an origin assumption.
One aside outside the grill category: Le Griddle has been US-made in Texas since 2023. That applies to griddles, not to grills, so it is not in the table above. If a built-in griddle is part of the plan, see the Le Griddle built-in griddles and the built-in griddle FAQs.
Parts availability beats provenance. A grill head lives 15 to 20 years in a masonry island. The question that will matter in year eight is whether you can still get a burner, a valve and an ignition module. A domestic manufacturer with a long-running series is usually easier to source parts for than an imported model whose SKU has been superseded — and that practical benefit is often what buyers are really after when they ask for American-made.
Stainless grade is a separate question from origin. 304 stainless and 443 stainless behave differently in a coastal environment, and where the grill was built does not determine which one is in the cabinet. Every model in the table above is published as 304 stainless. In salt air near Charleston that matters more than the flag.
The origin claim does not install the grill. Gas sizing, clearances, combustible construction, ventilation and electrical all defer to the manufacturer's installation manual, to local code, and to a licensed professional. If your island framing is combustible, you need an insulating liner made for that specific grill — read the insulating liner FAQs before you assume one is optional.
Alfresco, which publishes "made and manufactured in the USA." American Outdoor Grills is next with "engineered, fabricated and assembled in the USA," which explicitly claims fabrication and assembly rather than unqualified US origin for every component.
No. Assembly location and build quality are independent variables. Assembled-in-USA is a narrower claim than made-in-USA, not a lower quality tier.
Because we do not know, and stating it either way would be an invention. We are a retailer. When a manufacturer publishes an origin statement we quote it; when one does not, we say so. Buy those brands on their specifications and price, which are documented.
Memphis claims its grills are designed, engineered and tested in the USA. It does not claim US manufacture, and we do not make that claim on its behalf.
No. Shipping is free and we add no credit card fees. If you want a written configuration, use the quote request or call 843-212-7209.
The Alfresco ALXE-36 at $7,079 is the best choice for buyers whose primary requirement is the strongest published US manufacturing claim, and who are willing to pay for a commercial-grade cabinet to get it. The American Outdoor Grills T-Series 30" AOG30TN at $3,539 is the better choice for buyers who want a documented fabrication-and-assembly claim at a mainstream price and do not need a rotisserie. The American Made Grills Atlas 36" at $4,335 is the better choice for buyers building a complete single-brand island, because the doors, drawers, burners and liners are all designed to match. And the Artisan American Eagle 36" at $2,959 is the better choice for buyers on a tight budget who want a US corporate presence behind the product and accept that this is a weaker basis than the other three.
