How much heat do the two burners put out?

36,000 BTUs total, from two 18-SR stainless steel burners rated 18,000 BTUs each. They heat 542 sq. in. of cooking surface.

That is a high BTU-per-square-inch ratio for a 30" grill, which is what lets a two-burner head hold searing temperatures instead of just getting warm.

Does the rotisserie come with the grill or is it an add-on?

It is built in. The grill includes a rotisserie system with a 15,000 BTU infrared rear burner.

The 3-position warming rack adjusts out of the way when you are running the rotisserie, so you get full clearance for a large roast or bird.

Can I smoke on it?

Yes. A smoker tray is included and the grill is built for smoke-and-roast cooking alongside direct grilling.

Does this grill need an electrical outlet?

Yes. Ignition is push-button with a sealed 110V AC power source, and the dual halogen work lights and the LED lighting over each knob run on the same supply.

304 stainless steel, described by Alfresco as commercial grade. That is the grade specified for outdoor and coastal-adjacent installations.

Can I put it in a wood-framed island?

Not without Alfresco's insulated jacket, which is listed as required for installation in combustible materials.

Masonry and non-combustible framing do not need it. If your island is wood, steel studs with a combustible substrate, or anything similar, budget for the jacket.

Is a 30" two-burner grill enough for the way I cook?

542 sq. in. across two burners suits most weeknight cooking and small gatherings, and the compact width is the point of this model.

If you regularly cook for a crowd and have the island width, the 42" ALXE-42 steps up to three burners.

Can I get this grill without building an island?

Not this model, which is a built-in head. The 30" ALXE-30C cart grill is the freestanding version with the same 542 sq. in. cooking surface and two-burner layout.
