What is included in the Oval X-Large All-In-One package?

The X-Large ceramic grill, the heavy-duty stand it sits on, side shelves on both sides, an ash tool and a grate lifter. In practice that means you can unpack it, load charcoal and cook, with somewhere to set a tray down and the right tools for moving hot grates and clearing ash between cooks.

Should I buy the All-In-One or the grill head on its own?

Buy the All-In-One if the grill will live on its own legs on a patio or deck. Buy the head-only Oval X-Large if it is going into a cypress table, a cart base or an outdoor kitchen island, since the stand and shelves in this package would then be redundant.

Is the Oval X-Large or the Oval Large the right size for me?

The X-Large gives you a longer cooking bed and takes a couple of accessories the Large does not, such as the nine-slot rib rack. The Large costs less and takes up less patio. If you regularly cook for a crowd or want the widest accessory choice later, the X-Large is the safer pick.

Do Oval Large accessories fit the Oval X-Large?

Some multi-size parts cover both — several baking stones, rib racks and V racks are listed for X-Large and Large together. Anything that seats inside the firebox, though, is size-specific: deflector plates, searing grates, griddles, pizza ovens and rotisserie kits must say Oval X-Large.

What do I need to buy alongside the grill?

Lump charcoal and a way to light it, at minimum. After that, heat deflector plates are the single most useful addition, because they are what let you smoke and roast rather than only grill. A cover is worth adding early if the grill lives outside uncovered.

How do I set up a two-zone fire?

Bank the lit lump at one end of the oval firebox and leave the other end bare. The long firebox shape is what makes this work well on a Primo — you sear over the coals, then slide food to the empty end to finish gently, all without opening the grill up and moving fire around.

Can I sear steaks properly on it?

Yes. Charcoal directly under a cast iron grate is about as good as home searing gets, and a dedicated cast iron searing grate holds more heat than a standard grate, so the bars mark the meat instead of cooling against it. Preheat it with the lid down before the steaks go on.

Does the package come with a grill cover?

Can I cook several racks of ribs at once?

Yes, and racks are how you do it. Standing ribs on edge in a rib rack turns floor space into slots, and an extension rack adds a second cooking level above the main grate for anything that does not need direct heat. Both exist in an Oval X-Large fit.
