Above a wall-mounted vent hood there is a length of exposed ducting running up to the ceiling or soffit, and this is the stainless sleeve that hides it. The TrueFlame 12" duct cover, model TF-VH36-2-DC, is the fixed-length cover for the 36-inch TF-VH36-2 outdoor vent hood. It is a finishing part rather than a functional one: the duct still does the work, the cover just closes the view of it.

Model and Installation Information
The model is TF-VH36-2-DC and the hood it belongs to is the TF-VH36-2. Check that designation on your hood before ordering. No island cutout is involved, this being a wall and ceiling detail rather than a countertop one. What you do need is the vertical distance from the top of the hood to the ceiling or soffit, measured on site: at 12 inches this cover suits a short run, and a taller one either needs covers stacked or the telescopic version instead. Duct routing and clearances follow TrueFlame's installation manual.
Who This Model Is Best For
This is the right cover for a 36-inch TrueFlame hood installed under a low soffit or a dropped ceiling, where roughly a foot of duct is showing. Because it stacks, it also suits an installer who would rather build the height out of known 12-inch increments than fit an adjustable sleeve. If your ceiling is high and you want a single part that spans the gap, look at the 22" to 43" telescopic duct cover for the TF-VH36-2 instead.

Which vent hood does this duct cover fit?
The TF-VH36-2 only. Duct covers in this line are matched to a specific hood model, so a cover for the larger TF-VH42-3 through TF-VH72-3 hoods will not carry over.
What does the 12-inch refer to?
The length of the cover. It is the fixed-length option for this hood, sized for a short run between the top of the hood and the ceiling.
What if my ceiling is higher than that?
Use the adjustable cover instead. The 22-inch to 43-inch telescopic duct cover for the TF-VH36-2 extends across that range, which covers taller runs the fixed 12-inch piece cannot reach.
Is the duct cover included with the vent hood?
No. The hood, the duct cover, the fillers and the spacer brackets are all listed separately, because the pieces you need depend on your ceiling height and wall.
What closes the gap where the cover meets the wall?
A duct cover filler. The 4-inch filler and its half-inch and 8-inch siblings are made for TF-VH36-2 duct cover setups and trim out that joint.
