Keep your outdoor kitchen clear of smoke and grease with the TrueFlame 36-Inch Outdoor Rated Vent Hood (TF-VH36-2), a wall-mount canopy hood built from weather-resistant 304 stainless steel with a powerful 1,000 CFM internal blower and variable fan speed.

This 36-inch hood measures 36"W x 30"D x 18"H and weighs 129 lbs, mounting to the wall with the included 1/2-inch bracket template for a straightforward install. Commercial-grade, cleanable baffles help prevent grease buildup in the ducting, while two halogen lights with an adjustable dimmer illuminate your cooking area. It runs on standard 120V power and is UL approved for outdoor use.

Compatible with: outdoor kitchen setups needing a ducted wall-mount hood in the 30-39 inch width range with a 30-inch front-to-back depth.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much air does this 36" hood move?

1,000 CFM from an internal blower, with variable fan speed so you can run it lower for light smoke and open it up when you are searing.

The blower is inside the hood itself, so there is no separate remote motor to mount elsewhere.

What are the hood's dimensions?

36" wide, 30" deep and 18" high. The 30" front-to-back depth is worth checking early, because it is deeper than many wall cabinets and needs clear space above the grill.

What grill sizes does the TF-VH36-2 suit?

It is intended for setups needing a ducted wall-mount hood in the 30 to 39 inch width range with a 30 inch front-to-back depth. Match the hood width to the grill opening beneath it rather than to the island as a whole.

How heavy is it?

129 lbs. That is a two-person lift at minimum, and the wall behind it has to be capable of carrying that load once the hood is bracketed up.

How does it mount?

It is a wall-mount canopy hood and ships with a 1/2 inch bracket template for laying out the mounting points. The template is what sets the hood square before you commit to fixings.

Does it use baffles or mesh filters?

Commercial-grade baffles, and they are cleanable rather than disposable. Baffles knock grease out of the airstream before it reaches the ducting, which keeps buildup out of the duct run.

Is there any lighting in the hood?

Two halogen lights with an adjustable dimmer. You can run them bright while cooking and dim them down once the food is off.

What power does it need?

Standard 120V power. Plan for an outlet or a hard-wired supply at the hood position, since the blower and lights are both electric.

Is it rated for outdoor installation?

Yes, it is UL approved for outdoor use and built from 304 stainless steel. Indoor-rated hoods are not equivalents here, because the finish and the electrical rating are both doing weather work.

Do I need a duct cover?

That depends on your ceiling height and how much of the duct run is exposed. Duct covers sized for this hood are listed separately, including a telescopic 22" to 43" duct cover for the TF-VH36-2 that adjusts to the gap.

How does it compare to the larger TrueFlame hoods?

This is the 1,000 CFM model. The 42", 48", 60" and 72" hoods in the range step up to a 2,000 CFM motor, so if your grill is wider than the 30 to 39 inch band, look at those instead. See the full outdoor hoods range.
