The TrueFlame TF-VH48-3 is a 48-inch wall-mount canopy vent hood built for an outdoor kitchen, supplied with a 2,000 CFM motor and a mounting bracket.
Why 48 inches
As a rule the hood should be at least as wide as the grill opening it sits over, so measure the full span of the cooking equipment first. At 48 inches this canopy suits a large built-in grill, or a grill with a burner alongside it, under a single hood.
Airflow
2,000 CFM. TrueFlame uses the same motor on the 42", 48", 60" and 72" hoods, so stepping up or down in width within that group does not change the airflow rating. The 36-inch TF-VH36-2 is the only model in the range fitted with a 1,000 CFM motor.
Installation
A mounting bracket is included; what you need to confirm is that the wall or chase you are fixing to can support a hood of this size. This listing does not publish canopy depth, height or cutout dimensions — take them from TrueFlame's installation manual. Duct routing, clearances and the electrical connection at the hood must follow that manual and be completed by a licensed professional.
Ducting
Duct components are ordered separately. The telescopic 22" to 43" duct cover fits the TF-VH42 through TF-VH72 hoods and adjusts to the height between the hood and your ceiling or soffit; spacers and fillers are in Outdoor Vent Hood Accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size cooking area is a 48" hood sized for?
This is the 48 inch wide hood in the TrueFlame range. As a rule the hood should be at least as wide as the grill opening it sits over, so measure the full span of the cooking equipment first.
How much air does it move?
2,000 CFM. The same motor is used across the 42", 48", 60" and 72" hoods, so stepping up in width does not cost you airflow.
Is the TF-VH48-3 made for outdoor use?
Yes, it is listed as an outdoor vent hood. That matters because an indoor kitchen hood is not built for weather exposure in an open-air island.
Do I need to buy a bracket to hang it?
No, a mounting bracket comes with the hood. What you do need to confirm is that the wall or chase you are fixing to can support a hood of this size.
What about the ducting above the hood?
Duct components are ordered separately. A telescopic 22" to 43" duct cover covers the TF-VH42 through TF-VH72 hoods and adjusts to the height between the hood and your ceiling or soffit.
Let customers speak for us
I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
